when we began IVF i was 123 lbs. feeling awesome, measuring at about 5'7".
    now...18 weeks later i'm 150. i feel like a house.

is this normal to have gained 30 lbs already? it's so depressing and i feel so bad about myself!

We did ivf as well and i am about your same size and have put on 29 pounds. I find it kind of funny. Hopefully I wont gain more than 50. Doc says keep eating I am doing great. Dont worry unless doc says to!

your doing great....don't try to worry about the number too much or you'll drive yourself crazy. There is some women that put on a lot in the beginning and none at the end...this might be you. me i gained about 50 lbs from week 14- week 36 ....i was so swollen and i looked huge, but honestly the day after i had the babies...i dropped 30 lbs right away and looked way more normal. Then within another couple of weeks i lost another 10 lbs. Don't stress..just worry about "cooking" healthy babies

I was only pregnant for 29 weeks and gained 30 pounds from weeks 14-29. By the time I left the hospital, I was within 10 pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight. By my two week follow-up I was within five, and now 12 weeks post-partem, I'm 2 pounds lighter than I was before I got pregnant. Enjoy it!! Now that the boys are here, I can only vaguely remember being able to clean my plate and still have room for desert!!

I'm 25 weeks and have gained 20lbs. I just stopped worrying, and thought I would put all of that energy into a serious workout plan after the delivery.

I did IVF too and now at 23 weeks pregnant I'm up 35 pounds. I am freaked out a bit as well! But it is all for the good of the baby. I'm not eating all that much more than I did before (with the exception of adding more milk, fruit and meat to my diet) and it SEEMS to mostly be in my stomach... I talked to my OB and she said I should expect to gain somewhere around 50-60lbs by the time I'm all done and that is normal for twins.

wow...this is interesting, and just another knotch on the belt of Everyone is different. I think I only gained about 10 lbs by 20 weeks, and MAYBE 30 lbs the entire pregnancy..36 wks. But I ate a lot better than I did when not pregnant, and I didnt eat past 6pm (for fear of getting sick).. and I NEVER thought of myself as eating for 3..I didnt use my pregnancy as an excuse to eat more (not that you ladies are either) and I had 2 previous pregnancies and I knew I didnt need to gain excess weight in order for the babies to be healthy.

My daugthers preschool teacher is currently pregnant w/ twins and she is about 16 wks and hasnt gained ANY weight.

On the flip side, my SIL gained about 50 lbs with her twin pregnancy. . .delivered at 29 wks.
