I want to throw my twins a low key 3rd birthday party. Since my DH is deployed and alot of my friends husbands are as well I thought it might be nice to have it during the week almost like a playdate with cake :) I'm not sure if I have room for a weekend party including Dads and sibings too, kwim? What do you all think of this idea? Is it rude or strange?

I did for the boys 4th and 6th. The parents loved it because it didn't burn a weekend day. For their 4th we did it from 2-4, and it was only cake, so I didn't have to serve food :). For their 6th it was at Chuck E Cheese, and I timed it so the kids could get off the bus, get there, and the parents could get home to meet any older kids coming home from school.

We've gone to a few of these and I think they are really fun. They give us something to look forward to during the day. The only exception would be if you have friends that expect to be invited and they work and can't make it. We haven't done a weekday party because DH works and of course wants to be there, but we've really enjoyed the ones we've attended.

Thanks! I only have one friend that works and her schedule is always different so I plan on asking her what days are best for her.

My SIL did that for her daughter's third birthday party this summer and it was very nice. There were just lots of moms and kids. She did have another low key family party on the weekend.

I'm having my twins' 2nd birthday during week day as their birthday fall on Tuesday, Sept. 30th. We will invite some of their play dates and the Moms for a cupcake party. Also, we will have some fun games for the kids to play.

For low key we will do BBQ cookout on Sunday (Sept 28) for our close friends and their godparents as we don't have any families left on both side of our family to help us to celebrate.
