Wedgits

They got the deluxe set for their bday last year and have been playing with them a lot lately. I would like to add to their set for their bday this year. Any suggestions on what set to get that would go good with the deluxe set? I also was thinking about getting the imagination xtra building board kit. Would the pieces that come with that be enough or should I get the building board and something else. I am going to have my IL's get it for them.

I was also looking at the expansion combo set.

 

We don't have any, so I don't know, but I've been thinking about getting them for L&L so it's good to know that your boys enjoy them!

 

I would definitely get a board if you don't already have one. It makes everything they build so much more stable. However, I don't think the few extra things in the "building board kit" you linked to really help that much, so I'd just get the board by itself. The expansion combo set would add a lot more options.

We got a deluxe set for Christmas from my MIL last year and Sarah played with them every day for months. I wound up doing a lot of research to try to find add-ons -- of course, as soon as I shelled out $60 on eBay for an enormous box of Wedgits, she more or less gave them up. I think she got bored because she couldn't figure out how to do any of the fancier designs (the ones where you have to lock the pieces together), but hopefully when they're a little older and can do that, she'll be able to build a lot more things.
