Weaning from sippys?

Just wondering when you wean from sippys. I feel like I still treat my 3 year olds like infants by bringing them a warm sippy of milk first thing in the morning. They also get one before naptime and one before bed. They don't seem to be eating much for breakfast so I really think it may be time to stop? Cold Turkey? Then do I just offer cold milk in a cup at mealtimes?

    Help!

We started regular cups during mealtimes at about 2 1/2. As they got good....no spills. We gradually changed over for snack times. By 3 we really only used sippies in the car or on the go. I will say bedtime was hard to give up the sippy. We just had them sit at the table with their chocolate milk, slowly moving the milk earlier and earlier till is was pretty much dinner time. Then we eliminated a milk at bedtime all together serving only water if needed.

We never warmed bottles so I cannot help with that. Decide which drink will be easiest to change and start with that one.

My twins will turn 3 in September, and I've been wondering the same thing! I think we are creatures of habit and I automatically grab sippys whenever we give them something to drink. My mother-in-law kindly brought it to my attention the other day. I really haven't thought about taking them away until she said something. I am going to try to start giving cups throughout the day. The nighttime sippy will be the last to go...

I only use sippy cups if we are at home, that way they do not spill their drinks all over my new carpet. When we are out, they use regular cups with straws. Although they yank out the straws and just drink out of the cup like big boys. Eventually, when they get it down really well, I will quit with sippy cups completely. Hopefully within a few months or so.

Mine were younger than yours when they stopped using sippies although I can't remember how much younger - maybe 2-1/2? We transitioned them from sippy cups to straw cups. They liked using those and they still kept spills under control. Once they got a little older we started giving them regular cups with straws when they were at the table. The last sippy that we got rid of was we used to give them water in their crib and then toddler bed for a while.
