So we started by giving 2 M&Ms for pee and 1 gummy bear for poop. It worked great! Now its backfiring and they try to poop alllllllll the time!!!!!!!!! Or 1 will poop and the other suddenly "needs" to poop...but of course they can't, they just want the gummy that their brother has! So it leads to 30 mins or more of tantrums and frustrations between all of us bc I can't stand there that long and they don't want to crap or get off the pot!

ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do I get rid of the rewards?? They don't seem to care about the M&Ms anymore, just the gummies. So far I've told them today we don't have anymore! :gah:

Buy one small package and make a big deal about when it's gone, there will be no more gummys. And for every one each kid gets, you eat one too sneakily!! The bag will go away quickly enough and when they're gone, they're gone!

This is what we had to do. It worked great! Good luck!

Ditto PPs! The tipping point for us was the day that DD pooped 8 times (small, little, tiny, tiny poops)!!

Yes we are dealing with itty bitty poops too, or they poop a "big one" as they say and then try to force more (that isn't there) out the rest of the day and get mad when we tell them they don't need to go!

I just told them we were out and the store didn't have anymore. Gave them a coin to put in our penny jug the next time they pooped and then when they went again (yes 3x just this morning!) I opened my purse up and said I didn't have any. They started crying and the dog started barking so I used that as an excuse to distract them and didn't say anymore about it! Thanks:) I will just keep telling them we are out of everything;)

3 months into PTing, we still do stickers for poops, but only when they ask...I do not think they have asked once this week for a sticker despite pooping once a day. To ease them into the idea, you might want to buy one last stash of treats and then really talk it up. For a good week, I kept telling them that once the jar of M&Ms was empty, there would be no more for them to eat! Even after they were gone, they still asked, but I just pointed to the empty jar and said that the M&Ms were all gone. There were minimal tears because I had been preparing them for it. Plus, my kids would still get a sticker, so maybe that eased the pain of no more M&Ms :)

I stopped with the M&M's and stickers when the kids stopped asking for them. It seemed like as they got more confident on the potty, the less they needed the reward.
