We STTN - Finally!

Hello ladies,
We have 12 hours!!! Finally!
My first DS sttn by about 5 months of age. I knew it would take longer for my twins (my babies just don't like to sleep unless I make them....they are too busy ;-) and it certainly did! We did CIO for the 3am feeding at 6 months, but they were still waking at about 11pm and 5am to feed (they always went right back to sleep, but still, we were not getting all of the long stretches of sleep I longed for). At just about 9 months exactly, they dropped their 11pm feeding on their own. Just last night, when Will woke at 5:15am, he just fussed while laying down. After about 20 minutes of this, he stopped. Of course, Aiden started right up. He just fussed for 5 minutes and then.....all was quiet! I swear, I woke up in disbelief every 15 minutes after that (so I hope for my official sttn tonight ;-) until 7:30 when they woke up again. I was covered in milk, but I didn't care at all!
They even slept through the 7am wake up call from Eric whose room is right next to theirs. I have known for a few weeks now that they didn't really need the 5am feeding b/c they were hardly eating when they woke at 7 or 8, but it was a long standing habit around here.
Ok, enough of my rejoicing. I just thought of you all and knew many of you would understand my excitement. I really can't believe I'm that excited about it taking almost 10 months for them to sttn, but in retrospect it wasn't all that bad. (Of course, I can say that now...hopefully I'm not jinxing myself for tonight!)
Thank you for all of your support and for providing such great reading material for so many late night feedings (especially during the first 6 months)!!!

 

that's fantastic but be ready for relapses, and don't give in!! You did great letting them CIO and get back to sleep on their own
