Since my time is limited now that my girls are nuts when I go shopping, I am looking for advice on where to purchase slippers. I am sure we will be home a lot this winter and I would like to have something warmer than socks on the girls as our floors tend to get chilly. I looked at BRU today with no luck. I am looking for a bootie style (with a stretchy sock-like top) with rubber grips on the bottom. I figure these will be easy to get on. I saw some like this at BRU today but they didn't have any rubber grippers. I also saw a normal looking slipper which was cute, but it had a real hard sole.

To be very honest, the thing I found to be perfect are the Robeez. My kids have always worn the shoes type as slippers - still do actually. For warmer feet, get the booties. They go higher up over the ankle, are lined and so lovely.

    I cannot recommend them enough.

    Robeez Take a look.

ETA - they don't fall off either.

I found some really nice ones at Target, Circo brand. They have rubber gripper bottoms and are warm and fuzzy. They are perfect for them. We have hardwood floors, and also they get in their pajamas at my parents' house when we have dinner over there and need to walk to the car and into our house, and they are fine for walking outside for a short time.

I have seen some in Hanna Anderson and One Step Ahead/Leaps and Bounds catalogs that we have gotten in the mail. They pull on like socks, but the bottoms have rubber on them and they look really warm and comfortable....I am actually thinking about getting them for my girls b/c we have hardwood floors....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Robeez but my girls grew out of the 0-6 and the 6-12 are still HUGE on them. :( Did you put them on your kids when they were too big? Did they have trouble walking? I was wondering if this would happen.

we used the hanna anderson ones (socks with non slip soles) last winter and they were great - unfortuately, they don't come in bigger sizes so we're on the hunt for some for this year ourselves.

We have used the Circo brand and the Hanna Andersson brand, and the Hannas are better by far. They have leather on the bottoms, but it goes up a little bit behind the ankle, whereas the Circo brand and the One Step Ahead brands do not. They are a bit more expensive, but they are wonderful! They do not come off, and yes, they are great for quick trips to the car or out to get the mail. We love them!

At that age all 3 kids wore the Robeeze (or the brand Kohls' carries what ever that is) all the time. They wore them with socks when they were a little big on their feet. They were awesome and they wore them just about 24/7.

I still have James' he wore them so long that I could not bear to part with them. He kind of learned how to walk was I was hospitalized on bedrest.

Try the Lands End website. I bought mine some for 2.99 on clearence there! They are the sock style with the leather on the bottom. I got the ones that look like horses. They love them! They had to wear them when we first got them in the mail a couple of weeks ago and it was 90 degrees outside!!

One Step Ahead has some in the catalog they just sent me.. larger sizes, too.

I would check their website- we may be getting some of those, too since they seem so comfy and have grips.

We had slippers last year and it drove me nuts because they always took them off along with their socks. I'm not sure what we'll try this year. thanks for all the suggestions. Michelle, I hope you find something you like and that your kids will keep them on for you.

I second the Land's End toddler slippers! I buy them (well, not the toddler ones....) for my boys and we LOVE them. They last all year and can be washed many times. They have leather on the bottom, but don't seem to be slippery, even on our hardwoods (which we have throughout the main floor of the house).
Here's a link to the ones for $2.99 - that is a BARGAIN (heck, I think they are pretty reasonable at $15!)

I'm getting Robeez for all three little ones. The twins had them as babies and wore them as slippers. If it's really cold, I just put socks under them. My Kayci has thin feet so it seems like the Robeez swim on her but she has no trouble walking in them. They go up to a 3T/4T so I'm getting them for my three yr old too. I need something easy to throw on when I need to get them out of bed and to the car to get the older ones to and from school. If you don't want to order them, you can check on the website for stores in your area that sell them. Last year we had the Target knockoffs and they held up pretty well, although I didn't wash them. They only go up to 18-24mos so I'm not using them this time.

I am going to endorse the Lands End slippers, too. You can find a lot of great stuff in their Overstock section.
