My (giant) girls are still in their toddler beds (crib converted) their room is too small to convert both beds to the double size. We're looking for two inexpensive twin beds, any suggestions? Big Lots has one on sale, it's very cheap...and I fear it's too cheap. http://www.biglots.com/search/product/1143.

Ideally in the future I'd love to have bunk beds, but they are too young right now, so I was thinking something like this: http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1d1ff76&submit%20search.y=0&Ntt=stackable+bunk+bed&SearchString=stackable+bunk+bed&Ne=4+840+877+878+5+961+6+968+29+3+587+15+12+1011+598+11+506+10+23+585+969+596+963+579+1031+8+1022+1014+586+1007+879+1027+18+904+903+833+949&hdnOnGo=true&NOffset=0&submit%20search.x=0&Nao=0&N=4294959029&SO=0&PSO=0&CmCatId=searchresults

    Any other suggestions?

It says the big lots website is down so I can't see what you linked, was it the wooden bunk bed set they have for like $200 or something that you linked? If it is, I've been looking at it in the store, it doesn't seem cheaply made to me, and it's what we're planning to get the twins in the spring. Of course, we'll just seperate the beds for now and convert it to bunk beds in a few years. :)

Remove the period (.) at the end of the URL and it will work.

BTW, whenever our boys graduate out of toddler beds to twin beds (they are still in cribs at 2.5) I want twin beds that also have drawers in the bottom of them. Gotta have extra storage! :)

We're going to do junior loft beds for their 4th birthday. I'm not ready for bunk beds (and who wants to make those beds up there?!) and my nephew has one of these and the height is much lower than a bunk bed. I am planning to designate the space under their bed as THEIR space so they have some of their own in their room and hopefully move their chair and a few toys under there. There is often furniture you can order to match (shelves, drawers) that will fit just right under it too.

    Here's a link to one:

Our boys are still in cribs but we are planning to transition them to an "unstacked" bunk bed after Christmas. I definitely like the JCPenney bed and I love the price, but there doesn't look like a lot of room between the bunks... I'd have to see it in person. I also really like the Big Lots bed! I don't know how you feel about buying a bunk bed online, but we have been looking at this bunk bed. I also love the idea of storage drawers under the bed. I haven't been able to confirm that they will unstack though, but it looks like they will. That website in general has a ton of great beds at a reasonable price.

We got bunk beds at Costco when my twins were 3 and are still using them un-bunked. (They'll probably never be bunked, since they'll have their own rooms after we renovate.) We just liked the beds and I found that bunk beds seemed to be cheaper than two twin beds for apparently the same quality. They don't have storage or anything, but any beds with drawers in them were SO much more expensive that I just couldn't justify it.

They don't seem to have the same ones on their website at the moment (we actually bought them in the store), but they were similar to this and about this price:
    http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?prodid=11531428&whse=bc&topnav=&cat=2214&hierPath=93*2214*&lang=en-US

We got ours in a blue finish. (Thank goodness we got them when they were too little to think that anything blue had to be for boys.)
