We made it!

Well...It has been the fastest year of my life. Seriously. I can not believe one year ago today, I gave birth to the most amazing little boys. It was a day I thought would never come. I always dreamed about being a mother-it was the ONLY thing I dreamed of. Sure the good job, the house, the wedding, the husband-those were dreams too-but nothing, I mean NOTHING was on the top of my list-like being a mother was. And when you deal with infertility and never knowing if it's actually going to happen, it's pretty tough. But you can never give up-never give up hope and faith. One day-all those prayers will be answered, and when they are-you realize why you were dealt the cards you were, why the previous cycles didn't work, and why-you were hand picked-to be the mother of twins. I wouldn't change it for the world.

I will probably be in the minority when I say this-but I love every single minute of it! Granted-my boys were, and are, really really good kids. I don't remember being exhausted(we slept in shifts), I don't remember horribly fussy babies-they were pretty content. Seriously, I remember reading here how the first 3 months are really tough. I will agree-it sure can be. But luckily for me-it wasn't. I certainly cried. I questioned myself as a mother-was I capable of taking care of them alone? Was I doing it right? I don't know if it's just because I went with the flow, or after dealing with everything we did, or just so enamored with my boys-I can't say it was hard. For me personally-it hasn't been. Like I said though-my kids are really good. Sure I had tough days-we all do-but I would do it all over in a heartbeat! Being a mother is the most rewarding job one could ever have. I never knew how special it was...until I became one. Those boys are my life. The apple of my eye. And I can not picture my life without them. When I put Anthony to bed tonight, I cried. I cried because at my 7 week u/s, his sac was small and they said I might miscarry. Then, at 11 wks, they said he had a 1 in 49 chance of Down Syndrome. Then, at 20 weeks, again, due to a short femur-Down Syndrome was a possibility. When he was born-he was perfect-in every single way. Then they thought he had spina bifida, there was a hole in his heart..everything came back clear. A few months later, his head size was a concern. We had MRI's, CT scans, saw the neurologists...He's fine. Perfect in every single way. He will have surgery to correct his area in a week...other than that-my baby boy-both boys are just perfect in every way imaginable. And tonight, I put my baby boy to bed. The one who I was told might not be here, or might be special needs. No matter what-I would love him with all my heart. I just like to look at him, and his brother, as my little miracles. They truly are. A miracle. A blessing beyond words. And I am beyond honored to be their mother. I'm glad they waited-for me. It was all in someone's plan. And I thank my lucky stars everyday. I had a friend say, I was born to be a mother of twins. I love it. And I wouldn't change it for the world....

We had their party 2 weeks ago and it was a huge success. It was a party of 80 people-but it went very well and the boys did wonderful-and made out like bandits! Today, dh and I took them to the park, gave them their gifts, and then we had the grandparents/aunts over for pizza and cupcakes. All in all it was a nice day. Bittersweet for sure. I know the next year will be exciting, magical, and rewarding. It's going to be hard to top this past year!

There really isn't much new since 11 months. They both clap and wave consistently. Nicholas walks!!! He's been walking since 11 months- 11.5 months old consistently. Anthony is still cruising, and I think he has a ways to go before he does walk. They are both talking a lot more-nothing decipherable-but a lot of babbling going on. They are totally in love with each other. It's a sight to see. They love the outdoors. They love giving hugs. They love emptying out the sandwich bags and throwing them on the floor. They love their milk. They love their sweets. They loved to be chased. They love Baby Einstein's Old MacDonald. They love music and dancing to it. They love to smile. It's apparent every day. And I love how they love me, and my husband. It doesn't get any better than this! Oh-and they found out they are going to be big brothers! I apologize now for the photos. You don't have to look at them all. I have taken over 3,000 photos. And I couldn't choose!! LOL!

Thanks! As for the photos....yeah...now that I made it a year, I need to put the photos on CD's by month or whatever. Something. I would not be a happy camper if I lost them!
