    TWO GIRLS!

I don't know if I am shocked or not, to be perfectly honest! I was really, really hoping for boy/girl twins. But I told my DH the other night "after hearing TJ reinact battle scenes from Star Wars for the ump-teenth time, and hearing blaster sounds, gun ship sounds, etc., the thought of two girls is quite appealing." For a LONG TIME the idea of two girls scared the living daylights out of me. Lucky for me, I came to terms with what was meant to be before I found out about it!

I was truly disappointed for my son, though. He REALLY wanted a little brother. But he was pretty resilient last night when we told him. He doesn't seem too phased by it. I know some 4.5 year olds his age don't grasp the idea, but I think he does - especially since my BFF has 1 year old twin girls.

But Alas, after almost 5 years of saving every little boy's shoe, romper, jeans, etc. --- I won't be able to use them. We have a big kids market sale in March and I COULD drag everything out and try to get it ready to sell, BUT this happened last time. The same U/S tech told us TJ was a girl and we found out 8-10 weeks later that he was NOT a girl. So, EVEN THOUGH I've been told that I am the ONLY person she's gotten wrong before, considering our HISTORY, I am holding on to my boy-blues for a little while longer :)

The idea of having two girls of my own is a nice idea - especially since my step-daughter has been raised in a way (by her mom) that really goes against what her father and I would have done for our own children. But that's a whole other rant!

So, I am preparing myself to be pinked-out and get into the idea of being a mommy to girls! WOW!

That's funny we had the same issue but exact opposite. I have a 5 year daughter and a 6 year step son and when we found out we were having two boys my daughter was a little disappointed. I also had saved all her clothes but after hearing and seeing that they were actually boys for the third time I gave all the clothes to a friend of mine who recently had a baby girl.

Congratulations!! I know just how you feel though. My son, who coincidently is named Timothy, was 8 when we found out we were having girls. I didn't know what in the world I was going to do with two girls. I had been so used to my boy and being the only girl in the house. However, the girls are an absolute joy and nice change of pace. They are so different than my son was at this age. my son has really grown into the "big brother". He is so protective of them and loves to play with them. He, too, wanted a little brother, but has adjusted to having little sisters quite well.

Congrats, again. You'll have loads of fun!!

when we had our scan in August of 06 - finding out that we were having 2 girls was more shocking than the news we were having twins!!! it scared me so much!! I have 3 sons and knew nothing about little girls (other than once being one lol!)

We found out a few weeks ago we're having girls too. I have been saving all my boy stuff for 2 years. I'm going to wait for at least one more ultrasound before I give it away. I was hoping for boy-girl twins too. I've said ever since I found out it was twins that I wasn't going to dress them alike. Guess what......I've started buying cute little matching outfits. Of course, I only buy them if they're clearanced out, but still. It's crazy was these babies can do you a person!! I would like to wish you well on the rest of your pregnancy!!

Life is sweet with girls. (Yes, filled with drama at times-but still very sweet!) Enjoy them and all the pink that comes along with them. Congrats!

Congratulations! You know, you can probably use a bunch of your son's clothes for the girls. We got tons of hand-me-downs from my boy cousin who was 9 months older than Ainsley and Sierra and they came in very handy. Congrats again!

When we first went in to find out what we are having, they told us two boys. Took me a while to get use to the idea, but just about that time, I went in for my next u/s and found out we are having a boy and a girl. My son was disappointed, that one of his brothers had turned into a sister during the previous month, but he was happy he still had one brother. As you can see from below, I have 3 girls already and he is the only boy. He had told me he was moving out if he ended up with 2 more sisters! LOL! (Can't say as I would blame him!) If it's happened to you before, it could definately happen again. You should be going in for a level II u/s soon. I would wait for that to count out a boy! They can see so much more clearly than the smaller u/s. That is what it took for me, to be sure... then I went in for an elective u/s and got confirmation, before I told anyone else! Sneaky little ones in there!!! Aren't they??? ;) Anyway, congratulations! Girls are a lot of fun and if you end up with two, then that means big brother gets to take care of two little sisters on the playground! It's lots of fun picking out the cute little dresses and all the frills... even if your not a very frilly person. Have fun!

Our 12 year old son has 3 little sisters. He is the sweetest kid and our girls can be such whiny drama queens but I wouldn't have it any other way and neither would he! CONGRATS! :itwins:

Yeah for twin girls! LOL.

The whole time I just KNEW we were having identical boys. Well, at 18 weeks the tech told us girls! I was terrified too...how am I'm I going to raise two girls...I'm barely a girl myself...LOL. I just know ours are destined to become little tomboys!

I have 3, I highly recommend them. :D I too was hoping for one of each since I already had a girl. I'll never know what it's like to raise a boy but I've come to terms with that. A friend gave me a bunch of gender neutral onsies from her son to use for our girls - ducks, cute Gap stuff. You may be able to use some newborn stuff again if you don't have too much blue.

    Congrats!
