So after much hesitation, we decided to drop the dreamfeed last night, I was so so so scared that they would be up at least twice at night to eat. They both ate at 6, then were in bed at 6:30. DD didn't wake up until 3 (9 hours holy crap), ate and went back down and DS never woke up    He slept for 14 hours, holy crap!!!! I did check on him when I fed DD, and had DH go in and check on him at 6:30 this morning and he was sleeping away. Please tell me this is not a fluke!!!

Hooray! I wouldn't call it a fluke, more like a great start! I've been trying to push our night feed back every night. So far it's working. So happy to hear this worked for you! :a_smil09:

That happened when we dropped the dream feed as well. We never had to do CIO because they just started sleeping through as soon as well stopped the 11:00pm feeding. Here's to happy sleeping!! :drinks:

I wouldn't call it a fluke. My guys started sleeping 12 hours around that time too. It was short-lived for James because he developed a night waking problem a few weeks later (not related to hunger), but that's another story and I won't depress you with it. Just enjoy this new-found time to rest!

What exactly is a dream feed?? I've never heard that expression before.

A dreamfeed is when you get the babies up to feed them without really waking them up. Because our babies go to bed so early (6:30 ish), we would wake them at 10:30 or 11 to feed them in hopes that they would then sleep through until morning. We started it around 3 months (when the early bedtime started) and just stopped last night.

Great news! I knew you had been nervous to drop this feed. We are dream-feeding, too, and I know I should give it up soon. But we're all getting over colds, and I still need to try and wean them from the swaddles, so probably not for a couple weeks. DD has been waking up anyway around 3am this past week (I think due to being sick), so who knows if the dreamfeed is even helping? But, you've given me hope that we will be able to make a smooth transition, too...... enjoy your sleep!
