I think this purchase was more difficult than our transition from bottles to sippys...and that was very hard on DH.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I posted a question about what kind of MV we should get. Thanks to all of you that responded!

After about two months of looking I found a 2008 Toyota Sienna for $15,500 from a private seller. I told DH about it and he was not excited. He said, "you can't buy the first one you see." This was not true on the contrary I had done my consumer review research as had looked at at least 100 cars on-line.

I inquired about the vehicle from the seller and set up a time to take a look at it. As the time got closer DH insisted that I not go and that I should wait a little longer and try to sell my car on Craigs list so we could get a better van. (I didn't know this at the time but he REALLY wanted an Odyessy). He got our friend who knows about cars on the phone to try and tell me not to go and then the Cu De Gra; he told me that this could put out marriage in Jepardy.

I thought he was being a bit dramatic so I told him I still planned on going the next morning. We'll when he woke up he was having trouble breathing and was coughing up a lung so I canceled and sent DH to the Doctor. My MIL came to watch the kids while I stopped at work to take care of a few things. I then called to let him know I was on my way home and he said I could stay at work. I replied, "if that's the case I will just go look at the car."

I arrived...the car was dirty on the outside with some scatches but clean as a whistle on the inside...very nice vehicle. I took it for a test drive and then asked if I could take for an inspection at a local Toyota dealership before I made my decision. Everything checked out and I bought it. DH was not happy since I didn't get home util about 7:00 PM and he was apparently dying in my absence (he left some very nice voicemails for me to listen to). I offered to get dinner and he replied I just needed to get home because he needed to get out of there (remember he was on his death bed a few hours before). He managed to gather enough strength to go to his friend's house (father of 4) to show him the purchase and get pizza.

The kids love it and want to take it everywhere we go and DH drives it all the time now. I don't think I will ever be able to get behind the wheel again.

A few days have gone by and he has come around to the Sienna and is over his Odyessy crush. He said yesterday, "I have never fallen in love with a car so fast...I'm scared. Please don't loose your job."

    I love my DH!

    Thanks for reading,
    Lindia

Some men just can't handle big purchases. We were opposite here. We were crushing on the Sienna, but had to settle for the Odyssey.
