We are home temporarily

Okay well we were released on Thursday to come home for a time. We had lots of tests on Thursday. Our little girl (donor) has a bit more fluid and was moving around a ton which was so sweet to see. We were able to actually see her bladder for the first time. But our big girl (recipient) her heart has worsened but it hasn't improved though. We are stable, and they really like to see just a tiny improvement. So they are having us come back for more tests on Friday. Depending on what they see they will determine whether they need to go back in and see if they missed something. We are praying for just a little improvement so we don't have to do surgery again. We know the more you go in and work on the uterus the more chances of preterm labor and problems with the babies. Please continue to pray for us as we are very nervous and just have so much uncertainty. We know the Lord has it all under control and His will will be done.

I'm so sorry for all you are going through! I will keep your family in my prayers. I hope your little ones continue to grow so they can come out and meet their fabulous family.

 

im sorry for what your going through.. i will keep you and ur family in my thoughts and prayers.. stay strong.. those beautiful little girls will get through.. we did.. and the doctors only found out we had TTTS after we were born.. (16 week premature) so i have no doubt for you... and i know you will be holding your little ones soon, healthy and well. good luck :hug:

Goodluck.. you're in my thoughts && prayers. I had a scare with TTTS, but it turned out that just one of the twin's had a heart defect (VSD/hole in heart), and the other one was healthy. I wish you the best!

If it's any consolation, we had an appt with our peri cardiologist 3 days after the surgery and our recipient's heart was much worse than when we started, and even from just the week before. We had another echo 2 wks post-op, and her heart issues had almost completely resolved themselves. Her cardiac score was always 7/10 except for 3 days after surgery--then it was 5/10. At the 2 wk post-op echo, it was an 8 or 9 out of 10. They didn't know whether to take a pointoff for the enlarged heart or not bc it was exactly at the 35th %tile which I guess is the cutoff for taking points off. But, it was smaller than it has been so it was obviously improving.

I'll continue to keep you and your girls in my prayers. We are now almost 4 wks postop (tomorrow) and things are going very well but it has been one heck of a journey. :hug:
