My girls have been having episodes of spit-up that looks like water. It's strange. They aren't receiving any water. They have had rice cereal four times in the last two weeks. I can't remember if the watery spit up correlates with days they had cereal. They are not even close to teething so I don't think they have extra saliva because of that. Could this be caused by the cereal? Any other thoughts?

    Thanks.

My boys had the same thing recently (they are 4 mo old), and at their regular check-up, the doc said it was drool. I do have very droolly babies. Apparently the pre-teething drooling can go on for months before you notice any swelling or actual teeth. Hope that helps!

My little ones just started doing that..they are 14 weeks.
I think it's drool too because they started drooling out of the sides of their mouths as well.

I was going to suggest drool as well. My twins had so much when they were teething that they did spit some of it back up.

ETA - they were doing this long before their first tooth.

I think it's drool too... My ds drools all the time, not spit up type drool... My dd never drools but at least once every couple hours does a "spit up drool"... gross. I think it's normal, but if it worries you talk to your ped.
