What type of water do you plan on using with your formula? I was just bombarded with opinions last night when I indicated I was not planning on using nursey water since we have filtered water with reverse osmosis. Let me know your thoughts.

I use sparklett's water for bottles. I have never used tap just because I won't drink it myself and I am not going to give my kids something I won't drink.

In my opinion reverse osmosis water is about the clearest water you can get! In my experience MANY people do not know what that is, though, and so they may be quick to judge without knowing the facts. Any chance you have a Kinetico system? If so, that's the best! I'd feel 100% confident in using that water.

I just used our filtered water that came out of our water dispenser on our fridge.

%100 agree. Im looking into getting a system for our house.

In the mean time I do use bottled water. Not all bottled water is the same though. I know the earth2o and arwohead came back from the lab clear and so I use those.

Do be careful about plastics and even what kinda medals your system my use. These items release the most toxins when very cold OR very hot. I have a great article on plastic I can email you if you like.

Hi, we have a filtration system at home, and we also boil (then fully cool the water) before mixing in the powdered formula. This is what our pediatrician recommended.

We used filtered water from out Pur pitcher. It was just sitting out on the counter so it was room temp and that made making formula easier because the babies weren't expecting warm formula after the first couple of months. We ended up with three pediatricians during the first six months (due to a move and insurance change) and all three were perfectly fine with filtered water. Unless the babies are very premature, even tap water is fine. We used water straight from the tap during the few times our singleton got formula.

filtered from our fridge and before that was hooked up we just used plain old spring water - I don't drink our tap water although it tests fine it tastes nasty (IMO) so we do bottled/filtered...

We used tap. Our kids were premature. They lived. They don't have three arms or three heads or cancer or anything.

I feel like if you have faith in your tap water - use it. IMO you really don't know where any water "has been" bottled or tap. bottled water may just be factory tap. If you water has been tested clear and tastes fine I would use it (if it makes you feel better, boil it). If it tastes bad then I would buy bottled.

Our boys were premature and we still just used tap water. We have good tap water here so it didn't make sense to bother with the nursery water.

Until my premies were 4 months old I used bottled water with electrolytes. At 4 mos. I started boiling filtered water, and now at 7 months they get filtered water at room temp.

I don't drink our tap water; I use the bottled water that comes in a square package w/ a spigot...I set it on the counter and we're good to go! It's usually Arrowhead...room-temperature.

I am assuming you are all using water with flouride in it. Most bottle waters do not have flouride in it. Babies need the flouride for their developing teeth according to my pediatrician.
