    Hi,

The babies have been very fussy and I think they are teething again yet still no teeth. So anywho I have some water fillied teething rings and have been putting tem in the fridge to get cold. Well that only lasts for about 2-3 minutes and then they are not cold anymore and the babies start crying again. So I wanted to try putting them in the freezer so they will be frozen and stay cold longer. But, I remember hearing somewhere that you are not supposed to put them in the freezer is that true?

I don't think you are supposed to, but I have done it a few times. However, my DD didn't like it, I think it was actually too cold. I use a cold wash cloth now and she enjoys that better.

I remember the package saying not to freeze them. I think it is because it can get sharp or something like that?! With that said, I did freeze them but they were just never into those teething rings either in the fridge or freezer. Seamus always prefered the frozen washcloth.

From what I've read, the main reason they say not to freeze a teething ring is because it can get too hard and too cold and could damage their swollen gums or the teeth that are coming through. Also, the rings could burst or crack.

I agree that cold washcloths work much better.

I was told not to put anything in the freezer due to risk of frostbite (even washcloths). My ped said to just put stuff in the fridge.

Thank you ladies. You know I wasn't even thinking about them being hard and hurting my poor babies gums. I was thinking about maybe just putting them in the freezer until they are slushy and not solid so that they stay cold a bit longer but are not too hard or too cold.
