How long did you wash the babies' clothes in Dreft? I have sensitive skin myself and can only use Tide, so it worries me to try and switch them over to anything else for fear it will cause a reaction. I probably won't do it for a while, but was wondering what everyone else uses for laundry soap and how long did you go before you tossed their stuff in with yours.

I did it until the container of Dreft ran out, which was about the first 3 months. Then I did a sample wash of stuff in Tide and tested it out. They were fine, no rashes, so I went ahead and did their stuff in Tide. I prefer not using Dreft because I don't have to pretreat each stain. I felt like I was using harsher soap anyway because of all the pretreatment, and it took so much longer. You can try running an extra rinse cycle the first time with Tide to see if that helps.

I washed their clothes in Dreft for only the first month or so. No skin sensitivities here though! [IMG]

I never used Dreft, I started with Tide. But there isn't any sensitivities in our family to detergint. You could alway wash a couple oufits with yu regular soap and see what happens. Good luck

I used dreft until they were 6 months and now got the All Clear. DH & I both have terribly sensitive skin & can only use tide. But so far w/ the All no problems (1/2 the price)

We did dreft for a month, then switched to baby All and at around 6 months went to All Free and Clear

I washed their clothes in dreft until the container ran out which was when they were about a couple months old. I then switched to All Free and Clear and have had no problems.

Wow! I was honestly surprised that everyone swtiched so early. Here I was thinking I had to use dreft for a year or so! I'm going to try our Tide with their next load (probably tomorrow...and then another the next day...you know how it goes). Thanks a ton! [IMG]

You might just want to try a few pieces of clothing. A mom of a baby I used to babysit had no idea that she needed to wash his things in baby detergent and he had this rash all over his entire body. If your tide detergent is a free and clear type though you shouldnt have a problem

I never used Dreft. I use All free and clear or Purex free and clear whichever is on sale. I also do not always wash their cloths seperately. If there is half a load of theirs and half a load of ours they get thrown in together. I've never had a problem and this is what I have done since the beginning.
