I was wondering how you wash your bottles? Do you boil? Use special soap??

We are finding no matter how well we rinse...the bottles are starting to smell like soap. We hand wash them. Maybe this is common with Dr. Brown's Bottles?

    What do you think?

We always washed them with warm soapy water and bottle brush. I just used whatever dish soap I had at the time. We didn't use Dr. Brown's though. I don't remember a strong soap smell either. Maybe use a little less soap?

We washed them in HOT water with dish soap. I always used the Ivory soap because it didn't have a heavy soap smell and we wouldn't use very much. Sometimes, I'd let them soak overnight in just plain hot water before I washed them, just to loosen up any milk that was still in there. :)

I would typically soak them in HOT soapy water and then I wash them by hand with the bottle brush. I also use Dr. Browns and have never had the soapy smell problem.

I also use Dr. Brown's and rinse them really good in hot water and then put them in the dishwasher.

I just use the dishwasher, otherwise when I can't, hot water and dish soap... I have a bottle brush but mostly use my fingers, but I wash them after use.

I rinse all the parts (Dr Browns) in hot water, soak them in hot soapy water and then load in the dishwasher. Never really paid attention if there was a soapy smell or not, but the germaphobe in me would probably think hey, the more soap the better! As long as they're rinsed good and you don't feel a soapy residue, they're probably fine.

The dishwasher! And we had a basket for all the smaller parts and stuck that in the dishwasher too.

Since we premade formula ahead of time, I had enough bottles for each baby to last the whole day (like 16 in the beginning). At the end of the day, they went in the dishwasher, and after that new bottles were made. Made everything so much easier!!!!

I hand wash all my Dr. Brown's in HOT soapy water. I use Sunlight soap and don't notice a soapy smell.

w/ my 1st I hand washed everything. . w/ my twins I wised up and just popped them in the dishwasher!
I alwyas rinsed them right away so there was no build up or gunk drying, but newer model dishwashers all sanitize and work fine.

I was getting irritated/worried with the lingering "soapy" smell on my bottles...so I switched to "Dapple" dish liquid. I purchased it on Diapers.com and I love it! It doesn't have a lot of bubbles/foam, but it still works well. Plus NO lingering smell!

Same here. We also used a microwave sterilizer since they were premature we had to sterilize for the first 3 months. Once the number of bottles started to decrease, we started putting them in the d/w.

When my mom was here she'd hand wash each bottle. I used Dr. Browns, and then after she washed them she boiled all of the parts. My pedi said that was completely unneccessary and to wash them in the dishwasher. I had 4 seperate baskets in the dishwasher so I put the bottles on the racks and then had a basket for each of the different parts. That way it was easy for me to put the bottles back together and I Had enough bottles so that I only did the dishes one time per day.

Now my girls are on sippy cups and I still have the same amount of dishes to do each day.

We just wash them by hand with HOT water and Method dish soap. We like to only run full dishwasher loads so we don't run bottles in there or we'd run out of bottles. We use only glass bottles, which are really easy to clean and rinse.

I wash my Dr. Browns with the Totally Toddler liquid soap for made specifically for baby bottles. You can buy it at Babies R Us. Then I put them in the Dr. Brown's microwavable bottle sterilizer. Probably not necessary, but it is so quick and easy and at least I know they are clean.
