Washing Bottles in the Dishwasher

I am so sick of washing bottles by hand! We make up 16 bottles each day and I very much dread washing them all! We use Dr. Browns. We tried putting them in the dishwasher but have found that the nipples and other parts don't get very clean. We bought a couple of those bottle dishwasher things at BRU, but the nipple part is a total pain! It takes more time to take apart the nipples and put them in the little holder than it would to wash all the bottles by hand! How do you wash your bottles, nipples, etc. in the dishwasher?

I do them in the dishwasher, which is a ton faster. But you really have to be sure the nipples are clear of any formula or BM before you wash. I'm not sure which dishwasher nipple/ring thingie you got, but BRU sells one that is really crappy (it's like purple and very boxy). I don't get what they were thinking with the top, because you have to line up the nipples perfectly and then put the top down.

There's another one that is white and yellow and more rounded on the edges. That one, you can pop the nipples in without opening the lid. It's a ton easier.

Also be sure you are not overloading the bottom compartment. If you put too much in there, water doesn't get to the nipples very well.

Yes, that's exactly the problem - lining up the nipples with the lid - that is so impossible. What were they thinking?! Where did you get the yellow & white one that is easier? Also from BRU? Do you know who makes it? It sounds a lot better!
    Thanks,

I feel your pain! Up till recently, I had stacks of bottles to go in the dishwasher every day. I think I have the dishwasher basket that's made by Munchkin. I never had a problem with things getting clean, but I always rinsed off first & I don't know what's with my dishwasher but I swear it has dishwashing superpowers. Nothing goes in that doesn't come out clean, even dried cheese.

Finally my babies are taking the Avent bottles, and I just use 2 through the day that I handwash and then at the end of the day I put them in the dishwasher before I go to bed.

We use vent air and I got the Toddler Basket at BRU for our bottles and we go through about 16 a day and I wash them in the basket at the end of the night. I don't have a problem getting all the parts clean at all and I love the size of the basket all my parts fit in which is great.

I wash my bottles in the diswasher, but I boil the nipples on the stove. First I rinse them clean, then boil the water, then plop them in for 5 minutes - stiring to make sure every one gets clean. It's worked 4+ months so far!

The dishwasher is working great for us - here's what we do. I rinse the bottle and put them in the dishwasher. I separate the caps from the nipples and put the caps in the bottom of a basket. The nipples I put in the lid, only filling 5 of the holes in a zig zag pattern so that they all fit and the lid closes completely. I have three baskets and wash 15 bottles at a time.

I have the basket by Munchkin as shown in this link and it works great (you can pick them up in many stores). If you have bottles with bigger nipples like we do, you won't be able to fill all 10 holes, just arrange them as needed to fit as many as you can. You will probably need more than one basket.
