was your period different (cycle/duration) when it came back after giving birth?

sorry if this is taboo,. but i got my first one back last month when the boys were 4 months old- it was shorter than it used to be, which was great- but now i am waiting and waiting and i haven't gotten it again (and no i'm not pregnant i have tested a hundred times [IMG] )
i was just wondering if it comes back a little irregular at first, like not every month, or if you can have a longer cycle this time around?

Yes... not to scare some... but mine hasn't been the same since. It never comes on time, and sometimes it is LONG and Heavy and sometimes short and light... very strange.

My periods have always come back like clockwork, unfortunately! But I think it is pretty normal for them to be a little wacky for awhile, until your hormones adjust.

I have yet to have my period and its been almost 8 mos. I'm not complaining, but it sure would be nice knowing why. My doctors have put me on 2 rounds of Provera and 2 months of BCP and still nothing. May be related to my 3 week delayed post-partum hemorrhage, but the doctors don't know yet. Has this happened to anyone else?

Very regular but shorter cycles. I started off with 28-30 days, then after my oldest, we went down to 26-27 days, after my m/c we went down to 24-25 days. But I always O on CD15 ... Other than that, not much change. I have Mirena IUD right now ... lost track (and it's very different) ... I don't care anymore either ... I am done! [IMG]

I didn't get my period back until 9 months after my first- I BF. But, nothing was the same and I was all out of whack. I ended up having a hormone imbalance- took Clomid- and here I am with twins! However, I swear this pregnancy knocked me back into being regular again. No periods yet (again BF), but I feel soooo much more normal (less insane), so I think things are better this time. So, not to scare anyone, but things can get changed from pregnancy (for better or worse).

I haven't gotten mine back yet, but it was really weird after Dave was born, I'd go 3-4 months between periods, then after Emma it went to every 28 days on the dot. I'm hoping it's normal again after it comes back!
