I obviously have no privacy in the bathroom. Generally there are two little people who follow me into the bathroom all day. I have gotten so used to that I hardly notice. I am sure that is the same with the rest of you supermoms.. I do; however, try to be careful when I have my period, so that they do not see the whole tampon thing.

Well, I am obviously not being careful enough. This morning I was sitting at my computer typing and I had a tampon sitting next to me on the counter (still wrapped, etc). Lily grabbed it off the counter and sat down on the floor. I glanced over and noticed her trying to tug her pull up off so that she could place the tampon inside of the pull up.

OMG - I feel like the worst mom of the year. I guess I have to be more careful. I fully hope that she can lose that whole thought process from her mind - I feel like she is scarred !

I think she'll be fine not traumatized lol. Just think it will save u the trouble of teaching her later, I think its good when kids know what's going on then no big explaination down the road. Thought ur story was kinda cute.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Isn't being a mom the best? There are just a million and one things we get to beat ourselves up about and feel guilty about.

You haven't scarred your DD. She must have seen you use it at some point and was just mimicking what she saw. If she had been traumatized by it (which is what would lead to being scarred ;) ), you would have found out in a far less pleasant way than her mimicking what she saw. :)

I know how hard it is during that time of month. I am always out and about with my three which means at some point all three of us have to crowd into the lovely public restroom stalls. The ways I have to distract them while I do my business must be quite hysterical to anyone else entering the restroom.

 to you. Find the sweet side in this which is that you are her everything, and what she sees you do, she wants to do. Then you can simply let her know those things are for Mommy's and she shouldn't play with them.

I totally wouldn't worry about it! Mine see me use tampons now and then, and they ask about it, and I tell them it's a tampon, and that's it. There's nothing dirty or shameful about it - I see no more reason to hide it than any of the other fascinating bathroom activities they insist on being present for!

Lol!! I would have laughed! My girls watch my every move and ask what I'm doing when it's that time. I tell them that it's my period and all girls get it and they will get theirs when they become young women. I just tell them as it is and don't hide anything from them.

 I'm sorry but that visual is so funny. She's an observant one, isn't she?! Well, I've always just told my girls like it is, straight up. That way, not so much of a shock down the road. And not scarring at all, just a natural part of mommy's life!

My LOs have seen me take care of my personal business as well. Like you said, its hard to get away, even to use the bathroom. I try to keep my boys out, not really an issue w/ my 5 yr old, but the 2 1/2 yr old will sometimes come in and say "eewww". My 2 1/2 yr old DD says "Mommy, you beedin'? why you beedin mommy?" she even gets the tampons from under the bathroom sink for me sometimes! :D

I thought your story was cute too.

I can't help but laugh at the thought. That is so funny. Lilly is a very observant little girl. I have never tried to hide it from my older dd so I guess I won't from them either. I would here a lot of crying if they didn't go to the bathroom with me. You are not a bad mommy.

I think it's funny too! Connor unwrapped one once and threw it in the toilet and told me"This is where these go when your done with them mommy". I was like...OH MAN! But I tell them too, that mommys need these every few weeks They are only for mommys.

I think its cute shes trying to mimic you. Your not a horrible mom!! Shes a very smart little girl!!
