I personally wouldnt do that but that´s me. I guess it depends on how much it had been warmed beforehand and whether it was made with hot water, cooled then refrigerated. I make mine with room temp bottled water and leave it out of the fridge: I make the bottles about 15 mins before each feed with the exception of the first morning feed when I make them before going to bed. Again, I make them with room temp bottled water, leave them out then warm them before the feed. I´ve never had a problem.

I don't think you are supposed to warm it, but I always did, one time. If they didn't finish it the 2nd time then I tossed it.

I've been told that if you warm it out of the fridge, and they don't finish it to throw it out. But if you mix it up fresh and it hasn't been out long then I think you can put it in the fridge and use it again. (After ours has been out an hour we toss it.)

If there is more than an ounce left (which is rare, but today they had shots so one of them didnt have much of an appetite) yes we will put it back in the fridge and use once more...

This is what we did/do in our house (even now on regular milk). We made sure not to keep it out after an hour. We put it back in the fridge and then we reheated it only once after that (we only make ours room temp, not hot) and we make sure to pour it into a new clean bottle before they drink it. Like I said that is what our rule is here so HTH.

are you all talking about formula that's already in a bottle w/a nipple on it? i thought that once they drank from a bottle, it had to be tossed w/in an hour. my guys only get a few ounces of formula a day, so it's not a big deal to us, but i thought anything they'd drank from was supposedly "bad" after a while and had to be tossed. so that's what we do, whether or not it's cold (we don't warm anything up any more but we sometimes mix in advance and serve it cold).

or are you just talking about the bottle you mix it in? in which case, i think it can go back in the fridge if it started there and is still cold (once it's room temp after being refridgerated i believe it also should be tossed).

speaking of which (not that anyone's reading my little ol' reply, but just in case!) can anyone recommend a good bottle for mixing formula? something that's like 8 oz and bpa free? i always mix it in the 5 ounce bottles we use for pumping/serving ebm, but i'd rather mix a larger batch and have it for later on....... tia!

    :), jl

Nope, I would toss it. I just not that daring.
