being the computer wiz that he is not!!! he erased my entire computer! everything is gone pix, music, address lists, all the kids school stuff.......everything!!!!!
Lord, give me patience!!!

How on earth did he manage to do that??

 

actually he was acting on help from dell. as it turns out there is actually more damage than i thought. every website that i have been to is gone. for example TS didn't have any of my info anymore including the 100+ posts, all of my bills and the computer doesn't recognize the printer or anything becuase of recent updates that i no longer have!!! AAAHHHHH!!! i could just kill him!

 

We are both computer IT people and we had one of our computers get FRIED (literally) due to a power surge to our house from a storm. We invested $130 and bought a backup hard-drive off Amazon.com - it's 200GB and came with super easy software that now backs up our computer nightly. I would highly recommend it.

It's worth the $130-$150.

As the pp said...take deep, deep breaths!!

 

Sounds like he ran the quick restore disk. Dell gives you one so you can take the computer back to day one if you have a problem. That really sucks if that's what he did your stuff is g-o-n-e
