so finally i m going to my parents home. which is much far from here. two hrs of air travel and then about 14hrs by road.it is really far.
my sister is getting married and i am going to attend the wedding. but the problem is not only it is far but it is much colder there than here where i m living. but i want to go at this time when my family needs me... so i decided to go.
now my DH cant go with me as he won't get leave from the work, so i m going with my SIL.
as it is a long journey i m a little worried about how my girls will react to this....
if you have traveled with your children how were they during the journey ????
do you have some tips for my journey.....

We went on a 19 hour car ride when Cody just turned 1. He slept most of the way. We all got out at gas stations to stretch & we ate out once. The rest was done in the car. For the plane ride, i would bring alot of snacks. Little toys can be fun. Try little cars to roll around on the tv tray. Don't forget juice or water to make sure they are sucking during take off & landing. Hopefully your kids do well in the car seats. For us at least, Cody knows he is stuck in it & that helps with on the go.

Be sure to have food that they love for them to eat when the plane is taking off and descending due to the fact their ears may hurt. Also give them a straw cup with their favorite drink at this time and it will help with their ears.

Map out McDonald with nice play areas for them to stretch their legs - we did this for vacation and it made them much happier. THey could not play with much but they enjoyed the time running around and watching the older kids.

    Bring little books, toys, etc.

    Good luck with your travels!!!

We just made the first part of our long journey on the road. It is an 8 1/2 hour drive from my home to PA. We left at 3 which is when they usually go down for their second nap. So they slept for the first hour or so and then they watched their videos. That is the best investment we made for our long car trips. We have a DVD player with two monitors that go on the head rests in front of them. We stopped for dinner so they could get out and stretch and then after another video they were asleep for the rest of the trip. My best tip is to get the DVD players and try to drive as much as possible when they would normally be sleeping.
