My first topic here in 2nd year, and it seems somehow appropriate that it's about both sleep and diapers! :) For the last week or two, my boys have been doing a lousy first nap, because they wake up with dirty diapers. They used to sleep about an hour, but I'll check their diaper before they're put down, they'll sleep for 20-30 minutes, then wake up and complain about their diaper. (Sometimes it's just one of them but their complaining wakes their brother.) Of course, after it's changed, they've no desire to go back down ... I've tried varying the amount of time between wake-up and nap 1, feeding them different sorts of things for breakfast and/or just nursing for breakfast, and even waiting for a poopy diaper then putting them down right after. Nothing works! Is this just a phase?

I know the feeling about naptime poopies! I swear my oldest son would do that... plan it for naptime! Drove me nuts!!! My youngest doesn't go at a certain time every day, so it is hit or miss now.

my boys poop and nap a lot differently lately too...i'm trying to keep diapers changed as much as i can..it's hard to stay on top of it, but i always put on clean diaper right before their nap and change right after. i don't put them down for a nap until they start rubbing their eyes, so i know they'll sleep at least 45 minutes...

    good luck!

So they don't poop at the same time every day, it's only when they nap? There must be something very relaxing about naptime.... I have heard other moms talk about this, and I believe they mostly grow out of it. :pardon:

My guys never complain about poopy diapers and would happily sit in their own swill all day. :bad:

My guys did this crap ( :) ) for quite a while, although in their case, they would refuse to go to sleep, and I have to go in and change them. All I can say is that they finally grew out of it.

mine were like this, and maybe it was near the 1yr mark? ours would get quiet and then "talk" and lightly fuss for 20+ minutes and then I'd go change them and they'd go to sleep.

yep, ours outgrew it too! good luck!

My DS did the same thing, I think it was around 12-15 months. It drove me nuts but he grew out of it and now when he does have poo during nap, I can change him and get him back to sleep.
