Wanna take a guess?

haha! Ok so the shock is wearing off, but I am still absolutely clueless as to how I ever managed to get pregnant!

My last period was in July (somewhere around there, I don't remember) and to be honest, I couldn't even tell you the last time DH and DTD..... I know we did on the 14th of December, but then I started my birth control pills on the 16th of December.

If we go by that date for conception, I am just barely around 6 weeks and due the 5th of September. However, that also means that I started getting sick when I was only 3.5 weeks pregnant, before a test would even turn positive. I got sick on the 24th of December, and again about 3 days later. I've been pregnant 5 times and have NEVER gotten sick before 7 weeks. but then again, every pregnancy is different right??

Now, I'm no longer sick (last time was 5 days ago) and I'm at the stage where I'm STARVING. I have to get up in the middle of the night to eat, irregardless if I eat right before bed or not, and then I'm ravenous again as soon as I wake up a couple hours later. I ate a HUGE bowl of cheerios for breakfast this morning, and 1.5 hours later had to eat again. usually that bowl would have lasted till lunch.

So, do we go based on the only conception date I know, or do we go based on symptoms?? I do have an appt. today, but likely will not receive an u/s as the Dr.'s I have (military, no choice) are S-T-I-N-G-Y about giving out u/s's....

My mom and I both guesstimate me to be near or at the end of my 1st trimester already judging from symptoms and that the timing of me getting sick just isn't adding up....... What do you all think???

I was going to guess around 8-10 weeks as well.

I hope you find out for sure soon. I hated not having an EDD.

 

I would have to go with the 8-10 range also. With this pregnancy, I was nauseous for 2 days before I tested positive. However, I have never tested positive BEFORE missing my period...I don't test positive until about 2 days after AF was supposed to be here. With the twin pregnancy, I had NO morning sickness or nausea, so I can't really compare. With this pregnancy, my nausea seemed to pretty much disappear around 10 weeks.

Goodluck with trying to figure it all out! That would stink not knowing.

 

By your dates we are neck and neck... I've been sick for two weeks and still not hungry so I think you are farther along.. maybe 10 - 12 weeks?

 

you really can't insist on getting an u/s??? When you really, really don't know your date like this it's very important to try to get an early u/s for dating. Later u/s can be off by a lot...and whether you are going for a vaginal birth (where the ob might make the clock start tickign around 40 weeks before pressuring you for induction) or going for a c/s (where the ob has to decide when exactly 38 or 39 weeks will fall for doing the surgery) it's really important to know. I think that's enough of a medical reason to mandate getting an early u/s...it could mean the difference between mature lungs and immature lungs in the case of an early c/s. Okay...enough of that.. it just irritates me when docs won't take a simple step, that really isn't all that costly to make sure they know the edd.

Probably if I had to guess I'd say you are 10 weeks... or maybe further.... I usually get nauseous around 8 weeks until 11 or 12 weeks...then it's the starving phase...

 

I guess I am about 6 weeks and I am starving. This has been going on for 2 weeks or so. Maybe this pregnancy is just different this time. Good luck! (I am pretty sure of how far along I am but for some reason I think something is up. I gained 15 pounds since dec.1 , before I even knew I was pregnant. don't have a clue why.)

 

By Your symptoms I would also say about 8-10 weeks. My m/s started at almost 6 weeks and stopped at 15 so I definatly think you are somewhere in bwteen those weeks. I know what you mean about military not wantin to do U/S. The DR I had kept telling me I was so big already because I was FAT, and had my dates wrong when I measured 3 weeks ahead. I was in the ER for the 3 time with spotting and the ER Dr said something wasnt adding up, if I was 100% sure of my dates and with how big I was measuring he said I should have had an u/s already. The ER DR called me at home 3 days later and got me and u/s in 2 weeks. I wasnt FAT or had my dates wrong it was TWINS. I never went back to that DR again, even after he asked me too. Ok sorry about going on like that I just understand about the military dr's. I hope they make an acception in this case for you. Lets us know what happens.

 

I wanted to add that my office called me in for an earlier u/s because my HcG level was high (they initially said two weeks.) The Doctor insisted on an u/s for the reasons Susanne stated (and you don't like Dr. D )

 

Nope. No luck with the u/s. I even told them I had been bleeding over the weekend. NOTHING. 3 consecutive m/c's, no LMP to go by, no clue WHEN DH and I last DTD (before Dec 14th which I didn't tell them) and STILL no u/s. I got this whole speal about if I was only 4 weeks, I'd freak if I didn't see anything, which would just lead to blood draws, more u/s's, yada yada yada..... Like I haven't been in this situation before, I KNOW What to expect at what gestational age....

The doc DID say she'd do a quant HCG today and Wed, but then the nurse said no, it was today and NEXT TUESDAY. I told her you couldn't do that, it had to be 48 hours apart for accuracy and she said nope, one week. I had told her that's not what the Dr. just said and she STILL said no and ordered it for one week. I walked out and didn't even go to the lab! Why? I'll probably wait and have one on early Monday and then late Tuesday to get as close to 48 hours as I can.....

"Supposedly" I'll get an u/s next Wed on the 23rd. Uh, what was the difference from doing it today vs. next week?? Same scenario if I'm 'only' 5 weeks pregnant, no???


All I know is I'm asking for a civilian doc. I HATE military Docs, they have absolutely NO compasion what so ever. Not that I'm a complainer and expect everyone to take pity on me, but they don't treat you any differently than a regular, non-pregnant female, which in my opinion is WRONG.

 

My doctor wouldn't see me without an HcG either... and it was just one draw. After that, they put my appointment in mid february but the doctor got me in sooner and went over the head of the intake nurse. If the doctor ordered something and the nurse did something different, I'd call the doctor. That's just not right!
