My twins are just 1 years and they still arnt walking.

Morgan isnt even attempting too. Piper will pull herself up and walking along holding on to what ever their is, where as Morgan will happy follow on, crawling.

both girls started to crawl about 3 months ago, at 10 months.

are they developing late? are most twins walking by now or is this normal?

They still have time. [IMG] I believe the "normal" age for walking is all the way up to 18 months old. Considering your girls were 33 weekers, they're likely to be a couple months behind anyway. My girls crawled at 9.5 and 10.5 months and then didn't walk until 16 and 16.5 months old. Ainsley just started doing it one day while Sierra worked at it for a couple of weeks after watching her sister do it.

Mine are 34 weekers, Jazz walked at 11 1/2 months. Jess isn't walking and they are now almost 16 months. She is cruising well and has tken steps [IMG] but has just started to move her right leg correctly. Before she wouldn't bend her right knee and was swinging her leg in an arc.

This will make you feel better- we're not walking- we do PT and OT every week. THe girls pull up on EVERYTHING- will hold my hand to walk but will not adventure out to do it by themselves. I know my girls are behind- secondary to their extreme prematurity but they also were recently sick- off and on again for an entire month and the pedi said to expect yet another month of delay because rather than developing they were recovering from the illnesses.

Liam walked at just over 12 mos, Joss was 15 mos. She was a fast crawler and still will choose to crawl in certain situations.

I have posted this before but one of my friends from high school didn't walk until she was 18 mos old and she now has a PhD in Molecular Biology from UC Berkley and discovered a new gene!! That makes me feel better about late milestones

12 months is still on the early side for walking. From what I've read, you worry if at 12 months your child isn't mobile at all. But if your DD is crawling, she's doing fine. I might ask the ped about it if in a month or two she hasn't tried to pull up.

FWIW, my Sarah pulled up at 9 months, crawled at 10 (yes, she pulled up before she crawled), cruised at 12, and didn't walk till almost 15. But she was clearly getting there, so I didn't worry.

And as the PP said, the age of walking has very little to do with later success in life! [IMG]
