    Hey Everybody,

I thought it would be interesting to see what the average age is for all of our multiples to start walking...Mine are 18 months today and are still NOT walking and from chatting with a few moms, what I've heard is that they are all over the spectrum (but are generally later), but I thought it might be interesting to try and average it out...see if multiples are ahead, behind or the same as singletons...

    Its all for fun... :D

Twins: My son started walking the day before he turned 1 and his sister started exactly one month later. My singleton (boy) started at 10 months.

My girls are 15 months and they are just starting to walk now. They take like 4 or 5 steps towards us/to us from the couch or another person. Or 1-2 steps from one object to another...

Ellie started walking at 11 months to the day, and Searra a week or so behind her.

I'm just glad they didn't start walking when their father did...at 8 1/2 months! We had a little chat and I told them mommy couldn't handle it if they started walking that early....apparently it worked ;)

DD began walking between 12-13 months
DS began walking between 15-16 months (he is still doing the "frankenstein" walk with stiff legs and arms out for balance - so cute!)

James started at 10 months, much to our surprise (and disappointment, in a way...I know bad mama). Evan started at 11.5 months. James seems to do everything about 6 weeks sooner than Evan, I have no idea why. Just their personal styles I guess.

There is such a huge range with this kind of milestone. Some babies find crawling very efficient and stick with it a long time.

Early walking boys here. I didn't count it until they were walking across the room and that was at 10.75 months but they were "wall walking" (walking with a hand touching the wall) at 9 months. I don't think being twins has anything to do with walking later but prematurity certainly does (T&T were 39 weekers) so that would make multiples statistically more likely to walk later.

My DD started walking at 14 months, and DS started about two weeks later. This was the first big milestone she did first, he was always doing the physical things before her.

I have one walker (at 13 1/2 months). My son, 15 months, not even close ... better said: he walks well holding one hand, cruising, very fast around the table, switching furniture, but as soon as he lets go ... bend his knees. He's now officially my slowest (my oldest walked at 14 1/2 months). While he pulled up to stand at 10 months, cruised at 11 months (my oldest pulled to stand at 12 months, cruised at 13 months).

    10 months and 13 months.

I found it to be a really hard stage with one walking and one not.

Mine aren't walking yet, I'm guessing in another month, so that would be 14 months. They've been steady, but "late" in all their milestones, so I'm not concerned, and I'm not pushing it! :)

Both walked between 11 & 12 months but Lila beat Luke by about 2 weeks. I don't really think sex matters, though, because Owen was my earliest walker at about 9 1/2 months.

I didn't vote b/c there's such a big gap between when mine started walking. Ds started walking when he was 15 mos old. Dd took her 1st steps when she was 20 mos, but didn't really start walking till 22 mos.

Neither one of mine yet...cruising up a storm and we love to hold mama's hands and walk and we've ventured into unsupported standing but no walking. They are really fast crawlers though so I don't think there's alot of incentive to walk. We'll have to see.

Great poll though...as mine aren't walking yet, I was even getting ready to post about it.

My G/G walked at 14 months and almost 18 months ( they were 8 + weeks early) if that is helpful...so adjusted it would have been 12 and 16 months.
