i finally get to bed, only to want to roll over in the middle of the night and my stomach is killing me. its hard and it hurts.
is that because i haven't gone to the bathroom and need to empty my bladder or is there other reasoning behind this.

How many weeks are you? Towards the end of my pregnancy, my stomach was always pretty hard and achey - especially when I was laying down and trying to roll over in bed.

It definitely wouldn't hurt to get up and pee - emptying your bladder can help. Possibly BH contractions?

Have you talked to your doctor about it?

I agree with pp, sounds like it could be BH contractions. Also if you are a small or average weight person the more weight you gain the harder your stomach gets. Having two babies in there takes up all your extra room as they grow. I feel like mine can't get any bigger! My MD promises me that it can...

If you keep having pain I would just give the doc a call!

Can you add how far along you are in each of your posts? It would be so helpful!

I woke up like this quite a bit towards the end, and it was usually because I had to pee/was having a contraction at the same time. As long as the pressure is relieved after you use the bathroom, and the contractions don't continue to be regular/painful you should be ok.

I have been experiencing this as well. I wouldn't say my belly 'hurts" though (there have been a couple times it has) but mostly it just feels rock hard. It doesn't feel like the BH I experience throughout the day either. I have decided it is the babies and how they are positioned at that time. I usually get up and go to the bathroom even if I don't feel like I have to pee. Then by the time I get back into bed it usually feels a little better.

My stomach is rock hard all the time and it hurts...especially right under my breasts. BH are in your lower stomach right? I too don't think that my skin can stretch anymore but the dr says you have plenty of room....T'd like to see him carry two babies around!

Oh gosh I completely feel the same way right now! I was actually complaining this morning to my husband about my stomach being so sore and hard as a rock. I feel like I have been doing thousands of crunches and my abdominal muscles are just tearing apart. I have had BH contractions for awhile now, which I think contributes to a lot of the soreness. I get them anytime I move or change positions and also when the babies move. My doctor said this is very normal now at this stage. I even get contractions when I have to pee. Its not fun!!! I was even wondering if I get them more at night due to the fact that I am not drinking as much water. I know that they say if you are having contractions drink more water, but I feel like I already drink enough water during the day cant I get a break at night! Hehe!
I would just ask your doctor to be sure but sounds exactly what I am going through. Hang in there, we're almost there atleast that's what I keep telling myself to get through all my daily aches and pains! :)

I'd say BH as well , they just feel different when you're laying down :)

No, BH are like practice contractions, toning up your uterus for the real thing. In my experience, they are more of a tightening and hardening of your belly...they feel uncomfortable but I wouldn't call them painful (although some women find them to be). True contractions, however, hurt. They feel like a menstrual cramp (or like when you get the stomach flu sometimes). Once they get strong, they will literally make it difficult for you to talk or move. They are also consistent in strength and are timeable once they get going.

I've been experiencing the same pain as you in the last couple of weeks. My theory is that the babies find themselves a comfy spot that works with the way you are laying down, but when you move back into an upright position it's not so comfy for you. When I have to get up, it sometimes takes a minute or two to get them to resituate in a way that I can tolerate standing up and actually walking. My belly is REALLY oddly shaped when I get up, too. Oh, and yes I get a couple of BH during my first movements out of bed, as well, which doesn't help.
