one of my LO's has been waking up screaming the past few nights. you pick him up, and he's right back to sleep. it happens anywhere between 3-5 times a night. you hold him and hes calm, then you put him down and hes back up.

    what gives?

Ours use to do that for no reason--then we just had to let him CIO---after the first night it got better immediately and think it only took a day or two to completely stop. So for us, it was just him wanting the comfort of it, but I couldn't handle it anymore! It was weird too, b/c my boys have never needed to be held or rocked to sleep, so never really had to do any other type of CIO. Just for that. He was probably also about 4-5 months. It sucks!! Good luck!

Could be he's having teething pain! Good luck.

I agree, might be teething. I would try some Tylenol before bedtime and see if that helps him sleep. Also, it could just be developmental. They are getting to the age where they are starting to get really stimulated during the day. Could just be his brain doing some overtime at night. Ours did that periodically too. They eventually grew out of it.

We had a little one doing the same thing. We let her CIO and it seems to have stopped, but we did have a couple of rough nights.

We had that happen after some vaccinations. It gradually reduced after. I believe he is having nightmares. The only way he stops crying is to nurse for a few minutes or to fully wake him, and then he stops crying immediately. It usually happens within the first 2 hours of falling asleep, most times only once, but sometimes twice. Actually, it happened again this week after another round of injections.
