I have been feeling kinda hungover nauseated when I wake up in the morning. I try to get a pretty decent amount of sleep but can't understand why I feel so bad when I wake up. I kinda feel like a bus hit me too. I go to the doctors later this week and didn't know if my sugar is low overnight or if I need a snack before I go to bed. What do you all think--22.5 weeks.

    Thanks!

I definetly need a snack before bed myself! It could be your iron, they usually check that around 27/28 wks but you could ask about that.

Also babies are growing more and starting to put more pressure on your tummy so that might explain the nausea too!

I wouldn't "worry" too much but definetly something to mention to your dr!

I have worse morning sickness now than I did in the first trimester. I had almost none before 14 weeks, but since Christmas I wake up sick a few times a week. Eating before bed seems to make it a better as does sipping water whenever I get up at night.

I remember throwing up with both my girls at 27 weeks.
I HAVE to eat something before I drink anything, otherwise that makes me feel really queasy.

I get this too, and I keep food by the bed now.. like grapes or crackers or something so I can eat right away. It helps! I had the worst morning sickness through the first trimester, now I mostly just get sick when I don't eat regularly.

It could definitely be low blood sugar, especially if you also feel lightheaded and a little faint. A friend of mine who had twins suggested that I make Jell-O jigglers and keep a couple of squares by my bed so I can eat them in the middle of the night. I decided to make them the healthy way by combining no-sugar-added juice (pomegranate for me) with Knox gelatin. The sugar in the juice helps raise your blood sugar, and the protein in the gelatin balances the effect so you don't get a blood glucose spike followed by a drop (which would leave you feeling just as nauseated in the morning). It definitely seems to help me. The other bonus is that you can eat it in the middle of the night and follow with a mouthful of water, and don't need to get up and brush your teeth. :p
