Just wondering if any of you have experienced this. For some reason, my daughter keeps waking up religiously around 4/4:30am yelling and whining for about 1/2 hour or so. This started last week. I am really not sure what it is. I don't believe it's teething. Nightmares maybe... but always around the same time? Thoughts?

How old are they?? Mine started to do this last month and just when I thought I would lose it, they stopped. We have started preparing the boys early in the day for what is expected at bedtime and during the night and it seems to be working. We tell them that they will watch mighty machines and drink their milk, then go upstairs to brush teeth, then they get 2 books with us on the couch then it is bedtime, where they get a big hug and a big kiss then we will see them in the morning when the sun is up and the moon is gone.

They really seem to get it, or I am just kidding myself, but since then, they have stopped with the 4:30 am wakeups!!!

My boys just turned 2. I hope this helps, if not, good luck!!

My kids are 21.5 months. It just started last week with my daughter. I am not sure what the deal is. I don't believe it's due to teething. Not sure what is up. :(

How about an ear infection?? We had this issue for a couple of nights in a row and I suspected and ear infection and I was right. Just brainstorming.

she is fine during naps and layin down and it's only around 4am so i'm thinking maybe it's just a phase?

I'd make sure she checks out at the Dr.- ear infection a def possibility. If not then CIO mommy! I know it is so hard but no one is happy if that is the sleep pattern!! ;) My sil let her DD wake up at 5:30 am and she still does it and she is 5. My sil seems to brag about it  I guess whatever works out in her house! I'm glad she lives far away and we don't have to spend the night together!!

As long as she is physically ok and you don't think she is having night mares or is scared for some reason, hungry, thursty etc... I'd let her CIO'

    HTH

Maybe try a brighter nightlight hmmm...

Mine both started this 3 weeks ago at 19 months. At first I thought it was teething; then an ear infection; then I realized it was just hocus-pocus with DD. She hates to sleep. I went in one night at 1:15 am and stood eye to eye with her for exactly 10 minutes. She wasn't teething or in pain; just WIDE awake. So I picked her up, brought her downstairs and put her in the pack n' play where she is supposed to nap every day. Then I went back upstairs and to bed. This way she wouldn't wake up DS, DH and keep me up. (trust me - I know she wasn't sick.)
She did the exact same thing the next night; so did I (put her in the pack n play). She never did it again (8 nights ago).
    Best of luck!
