My LO's were on a great routine. They pretty much ate at the same times and napped at the same times. They went to bed at 6-6:30 and fed one more time around 9:30/ 10(dreamfeed) and STTN. I have recently went back to work (3 weeks ago). I work 24 hour shifts and my DH is staying home with them. I left him a detailed list of my routine to go by. Well now they are hardly eating, my DD is waking again between 4-5 am. They are screaming before naps and bedtime. I used to do a dreamfeed that they would not wake up for and now they wake up. It seems like everyday when I get home its total caos. I spend the next two days trying to get them back on track. Im sure me going back to work has been a big change for them, but what am I supposed to do? Both my LO's are chewing on everything and drooling all over the place....could they be teething?

    My questions are -
Should I stop the dreamfeed and just let them wake?
Should I stop going to her at 4-5 am and see if she will go back to sleep?

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

It sounds like teething is messing up their routine. I would try some Tylenol before bed and see if that helps.

As soon as you get into a groove, they always like to mix it up on ya! I agree, I would try some Tylenol and see if that makes difference and if not then I might try a schedule tweak. Maybe they want more per feeding and less bottles??

I was going to try and bump up their oz. and stretch the time frame. They are now at 3.5 hours and 6-7 oz. per bottle. My DS sucks dry 7 oz sometimes, so I was definilty gonna bump his up. They were only doing 5 bottles but now with this night waking they are back to 6. The problem is after that 4-5 am feeding, they go back to sleep and the next feeding they arnt eating but 1-2 oz.

Im so frustrated!!!! Im also trying to introduce oatmeal (once a day). They seem to really like it.

Thanks for the suggestions.......keep em comming!!

I am sorry you are going through this. Starting back to work can be a difficult adjustment. I agree w/ the PP's and give the lo's some Tylenol before bed. I had a similar schedule to yours and did not stop doing the dream feed until about 7months. I would hold off going in right away and see if she can settle herself down. Good luck.

I would also agree that it sounds like teething and that will definitely mess up a routin, plus them adjusting to you going back to work might have them off routine. I would try some Tylenol before bed and also some teething tablets and see if that helps. Good luck!

Hylands Teething Tablets--some people have great luck with these, we never did.

Gerber Biter Biscuits--you have to be careful with these because they can bite off big chunks. I would suggest getting a Mesh Feeder and putting the biscuit in there.

    Just to let everyone know......

I put them to bed last night earlier again, 6 instead of 6:30. I did a dreamfeed at 10 and gave my DD the teething tabs.

They slept until 6:40 this morning!!! YEAAAAA! Thats what time they normally slept until. So maybe they will get back on track.

Hope it sticks!! Thanks for the suggestions.

 Glad they slept better, I think they just need some time to adjust to dh caring for them and not you, I would stick with the same routine, maybe some tylenol at bed and I bet things will even out.
