When we first started I did plain and cut up into small pieces. Now I put a little syrup on them.

Cut into small pieces, mainly plain, but one of mine loves the blueberry ones. We do all similar breakfast foods like this (pancakes...)

Do you have a pizza cutter? That's what I've been using for waffles, pancakes, toast, grilled cheese, etc. It's SO easy to cut stuff up with it. But to answer your question, I give my girls their waffles plain, cut up into small squares.

We serve ours plain and cut them in thin strips/slices. They do have some mini waffles in the frozen section that you can serve whole.

I started them with a little butter and syrup and then cut them into small pieces. I still actually do it that way because sometimes they can accidentally take a bite but more of it will come off then they actually bit and it scares me. I personally don't serve much of anything plain. Everything has a bit of seasoning or butter or what have you because that is the reality of food. I have never gone to a restaurant and asked the waitress if I can have an order of plain waffles. YUCK! When I get them the flavored waffles (like the blueberry or strawberry) then I often will put just a little butter because they already have a really nice sweet flavor to them from the fruit.

JMHO but I think people get very caught up in the whole serving everything plain mode. My girlfriend told me she did this with her first daughter and it was a big mistake. She thought she was doing the right thing but her daughter had a hard time adjusting to any food that had flavor. Makes things hard when you go out to eat or to a family or relatives house for dinner, kwim?
