I carried my girls to 35w 2d and now am being told my one daughter will need surgery at 2 to 3 months of age due to a large VSD. Does anyone have encouraging information about this procedure? I am very scared/worried. She is only 2w old now so needless to say the next couple of months are going to drag :(

My cousin had a baby almost a yr ago that had VSD, she had more then one hole. Maddison was scheduled to have surgery at 3 months, and was closely followed by a Cardiologist. Her holes closed on their own. Hopefully your DD's will close on it's own as well. I know that it is fairly common for that to happen.

And congrats on your girls! What names did you end up going with?

I have a close friend whose daughter had VSD surgery at around 2 months old. She is 14 years old now & doing fine! Congrats on your babies & I hope the surgery goes smoothly!

@ Slipper...we went with Allison Renee and Tori Marie.

I was hoping that since I managed to carry to 35w 2d that we would escape any more issues....I guess we just have to keep plowing through. But it sure can leave one depressed :(

Congratulations on the babies!! I am so happy that they're both here, but so devastated for you that they're not 100% healthy.
