    Hi all,
My kiddos have had colds for over a week now. Typical stuff. Starts with a runny nose, then cough, little appetite, but no fever. Well now they have a real dry cough and after coughing, sometimes, they vomit. Has this happened to any of your kiddos? I took them to the doctor. Everything is fine. No signs of any infections, just post nasal drip and mucas. Just wondering if anyone has had this experience.
    Thanks!
    Melissa

Yep. Hannah still does that when she gets a cold, but it was much worse when she was younger. I hope your kiddos feel better soon!

Yes. With all the mucus drainage it can cause an upset stomach, and when they cough really hard or regularly, they can vomit.

Yes, same here. Last year at our annual TS get together Memorial Day weekend the night in the hotel Kyle did this so of course I associate the hotel with that and I was soo nervous this past weekend that it might happen again but thank goodness it did not. It has seemed to get better as they have gotten older!

Yuck, yes that happens. The only thing you can do is offer them drinks every so often and try to keep the room air humid. Other than that keep a roll of paper towels handy. I hope they feel better soon!

I actually had that happen to myself last fall. Basically the heavy coughing (I had bronchitis) was tripping my gag reflex.

I mention this because it may not be a case of them having an upset tummy as some have mentioned.

Yes, this happened with both DDs with both of their colds this year...one DD more than the other. I would get frustrated about it, but she didn't do it every feeding. The pedi told me that if she doesn't do it too, too often then vomiting may actually get some of the mucous out that she has been swollowing (I know, Ick!).
