So I am making the switch to regular milk starting this week. My two aren't big eaters. They are getting better but still don't eat ALOT. So, as usual, I worry. I don't know if their intake is enough nutrition wise. I can't force them to eat more, God knows I try, but I was wondering if it would be okay to give vitamins? I am not sure if this should be a call to the doc. I don't want to bother them if it is a choice for me to make. ;) So I ask my ladies at TS, do you/will you give vitamins? Could it hurt? Thanks for any and all advice/suggestions!

I'd ask your pedi. I do give vitamins, but that is because they come with the fluoride and we have well water so they need the fluoride. But mine are good eaters so I wasn't really concerned about needing additional vitamins, but I figure it doesn't hurt them.

Deffinately ask your ped. we also have water here that doesn't have flouride in it so for the purpose our girls are on a vitamin with flouride. I think vitamins are good for anyone but ours are prescription and I wouldn't want to give them vitamins on my own. I think it would be a good idea to get a recommendation from your ped.

    we did, per my Pedi.

He recommends getting children's chewables WITH iron and zinc {you'll be surprised that most don't have these}, split them in half and just grind them up w/ a spoon until they can chew them.

I give my girls Juice Plus Gummies. They are the best things out there, they give your child the full amount of fruit and veggies needed for the whole day. Anything else they eat is just bonus. Juice Plus has been around for years and is recommended by some of the top leading doctors and pediatricians. While a child is on Juice Plus there is no need for any other vitamin, the gummies give them everything they need. I've tasted them and boy are they good, your children will eat them. I cut them up in small pieces so my girls don't choke on them, they do disove quickly. I've never had any issues, my girls look forward to vitamin time. I'm going to post a link to the website so you can check it out. If you have any question feel free to ask. :)

You can, and it won't hurt them. It will help them. Make sure and ask your pedi for the reccommended dose.

    Thanks ladies! :)

I called the ped and they did recommend I put them on vitamins because they are so so with eating. They would have recommended it at their 12 month appt, but I beat them to it! :p

Trish, thanks for the link. I am going to look into that as well. I didn't have a chance before I talked to the doc, but will see about it. Thank you!!!

    :D
