Vitamin Question

Do my formula fed babies need daily vitamins? I know when we brought them home they were getting them daily, but they were brestfed then. Do they still need them? They are 14weeks old (6 weeks adjusted) Thanks~

No, formula contains all the vitamins and minerals they need.

 

I would ask your doctor. Although mine are only 7.5 weeks they get daily vitamins and have since birth. I am not sure how long they take them, but I will keep giving them until doc says to stop. Who put them on vitamins?

 

My twins were on vitamins when they came home as well, and the Doc said to keep them on the vitamins and iron until they began eating cereal, which we have just started at 5 months.

 

My pedi said vitamins until they are 6 months old - which is today! I'll wait until we go in for our 6 month check up to stop giving them though.

 

I give mine vitamins. Most vitamins are flushed out of the system if they are not used by the body and their is no harm from them (I think E might be the exception. So, I give them the vitamins - if their boddies use them then great, if they come out in the pee then okay with that too.
