What do you think about people visiting you while you are on bedrest? Like it, hate it? Are there tips you'd give to the visitor about etiquette when visiting?

Tell them to bring you goodies you like to eat or you won't see them(Ha ha!!)
It will make your time go by much faster!
I didn't have too many vistors because I was 2 hours from my family and time went by sooo slow!

    Take Care!

I like visitors, but I also never get them so maybe they just seem like a rare treat for me :) We moved 1000 miles away from friends and family right before this pregnancy. I'm the same as deb, I love when they bring food and also magazines! I only wish my puppy could come visit...

Please send some visitors to meet me :search: .
I have not had any visitors in the past 2 months since we moved cross country to a new state.

I am sure there must be some visitors that get on your nerves :umm: and you may not want to see them. Maybe you can have a mutual friend or relative let them know that its ok if they dont visit you that often.

And like the others said, ask them to get something good to eat or some nice munchies or they dont get to meet you ;)

Well I am not on bedrest per se, but I am stuck in the hosp for preeclampsia for now....

As far as visitors, I just want to know what to expect! I had a friend come last night who said that two others would be coming by tomorrow. MOST people that would come visit me I don't mind --- I can look like crap and just not mind. But for others, I want to put on a bra! So, just knowing in advance would be good.

Right now I just want goodies. I hate the crap with the hospital and their food restrictions when my doc doesn't care.... she told me today to get my friends to smuggle in my goodies and I HAVE!!!! So, if you visit, bring me goodies!

Oh...hospital bedrest huh..??? Yep I did my share of that! Let me tell you...ask the nurse if there is a fridge near by that you could store some stuff in. That way they could bring you a whole box of good icecream bars or whatever your fancy is..... That was offered to me by my nurses.... ( I LOVED my L & D staff!!) :D

Also make nice with your nurses and come up with a "code" mine was Could I get a coke....that meant that I wanted my room cleared out of ALL people! Nurses like to help out with this. I had company that didn't know how to LEAVE! I was strapped to the bed not even able to get up to pee.....

Good luck with your time in the hospital....and maybe get hubby your your mom to get you one of the nursing bras that are made out of the Tshirt material....I stayed in mine while in bed, they are comfy but still give some support!

I was on hospital bed rest for 13 weeks. On the 12th week I got 15 minutes in a wheelchair 3 times a week. My DH brought my dog up and my nurse wheeled me outside and I got to play with our puppy. That was one of the highlights of bed rest for me!

I didn't have a lot of visitors- they were a treat for me. We don't live near family. But we did have a few friends stop by. And they usually always brought food, which I LOVED!
