DS was born with hypospadias, which means his urethra opening (pee hole) wasn't at the tip of his penis, but underneath the the penis. So basically he peed downward. Nothing to worry about as a baby but something that can obviously affect him as he grows up. Anyways, he underwent reconstructive outpatient surgery on Tuesday to fix the problem and he is doing SO well! We are giving him the meds prescribed and he is extra cuddly (he is definitely my more independant baby who'd rather explore than snuggle)...the doctor described the week ahead as a "tough one" and while it's been challenging at times, he is doing amazingly well! I'm just very proud of him and am so relieved surgery is over:)!

my first ds had has done at 10 months...went very well and the following week with the cather in wasn't really bad at all. he developed a fistula around 3yrs and had that repaired...it went much easier (on both of us) but the cather thing was harder cuz he was aware of it. gl...he'll do great!!

My son had his done at 19 months which was about a year ago. I never really realized how commom it is for little boys to have it. I am so glad he is doing well. After about 4 days, he will be totally back to his playful self again so enjoy the cuddles!
