My DH and I are trying to decide where our babies should sleep once they arrive. We want them to sleep in our room for the first few months. Our crib does not fit in our room. My friend gave me a pack-n-play but it has a 3/4 bassinet and I'm not sure if it is big enough for two babies. What have other people done out there done or what are you doing?

    TIA!

got the arm's reach full size co-sleeper. Considered the pack n play, but the weight limit was much lower than the co-sleeper! I also didn't like the twin pack n play because it has 2 separate bassinets and I wanted them next to each other. Plus, I like that the co-sleeper is open to the bed.

We got an arm's reach full co-sleeper also. I wanted the babies in the same room with us and it made more sense to have them right there for BFing and any needs they may have at night. It is also great if you have a c/s because you don't have to bend over the sides to pick them up as the side is open to the bed and you are right next to them. Good luck with your decision.

don't use the twin pack n play i tried that and they rolled into the middle. i had to use a snuggle nest in their with it to keep them on their tummies. i would go for the co-sleeper it fits next to your bed easier then the pack n play also. good luck

We might get a couple of different options as I am sure that we will use them at different times. We may get cariboo bassinets to use in our bedroom to start. http://www.cariboo.us/bassinets.cfm as well as a pack and play or co-sleeper which we could use later as a portible crib. Maybe we will end up just using the co-sleeper and then use the bassinets for different places around the house. The cariboos are so portable and I really like them. I am also trying to figure out the same thing.

I am correct in thinking that we could use the co-sleeper as a portable crib for later on, correct? Or can anyone tell me if it would be a hassel to take on trips. Would a pack and play be better?

I didn't want them separated in a twin pack and play so I used a regular one with the bassinet and had no problem. I did put them in a crib after a few weeks because I wanted to sleep in my own bed (I'd been sleeping on the sofa next to the pack and play) not because they had gotten too big. My girls were small though. Pack and Play still gets used as a changing table in the living room and I store extra clothes wipes etc on the bassinet part and change them on the changing part.

We purchased the arms reach original co-sleeper for our bedroom from http://www.tinybed.com/ the shipping was free and they had more color options available. I believe the price was around $159. It was pretty easy to put together and comes with a travel bag just like the playards. When you are done you can just use it as a playard. I also registered for a pack and play with a changing table to keep downstairs so I don't have to keep going up and down the stairs with our boys.

Mini Co-sleeper saved our butts! We moved from there to cribs. My boys HATED the pack and play!

I didn't think twins would fit in a MINI cosleeper. What's the weight limit?

We have two cribs and a pack & play with bassinet, but our twins wound up sleeping in bouncy seats or swings for most of the first 3 months. Then we moved them to their cribs. Sarah did sometimes sleep in the PNP, but Amy almost always slept better sitting up. And although the PNP was technically big enough for both of them, after the first month or so they seemed to wake each other up.

We also found that DH and I got more sleep if the twins slept in the living room and we took turns sleeping on the couch. The parent who was "off duty" and got to sleep in the bed could sleep better without having the babies in there too.

We were very lucky and were able to borrow an Arm's Reach co-sleeper. It was great. The girls moved from it straight into one shared crib for a month before they disturbed each other too much and we separated them. We didn't really use our pack-n-play much, but my mom had the girls 1-2 days a week and got a lot of use out of hers.

On my local craigslist site, co-sleepers are frequently listed for great prices. Check your local site out if you don't mind items second hand.

I had my two bassinets in my living room (downstairs) so that the babies could be around me all day. Then at night they slept in our room (upstairs) in the PNP for only about a month. After that i put them into their cribs in their room.

Mini co-sleeper is too small and has too low of a weight limit. You need the full size.

You can use the co-sleeper as a travel play yard, but I heard it's a pain. I am also planning on getting a pack n play to use just as a travel play yard. Look on craigs list for the co-sleeper. I bought one from someone who had NEVER used it and paid just over $100!
