So for the past few days i have had this god awful rash on my stomach that comes and goes and it itches so bad ...and if i scratch it turns blood red and stays that way for a while and then goes back to just being splotchy ...anyone know what this might be ? I have tried putting lotion on and nothing helps at all !!! I havent used any new soaps or anything so i have no clue ?!?!?! also ...i made it to 33 weeks and i started going to the dr once a week now ..i was in the hospital at 32 weeks for 2 days due to PL ...they gave me my steroid shots and some mag to stop the labor ..the doc says he doesnt think ill make it to the end of the month ..im hoping to make it to 35 weeks at least ..although for the past 4 days i have been having menstrual like cramps and back pain wich the back pain isnt really new but ALOT of pressure in the pelvic area ..at times it hurts really bad but no painful contractions that i can tell ...i hate going to L&D ..have only been once my entire pregnancy and dont really want to go back until its the real deal . anyone have any advice ?

No advice, but I hope you can find some relief, I'm sure it's uncomfortable. Don't hesitate to ever go to L&D if you feel it's necessary. :hug99:

Yes, you have Puppps. I'm still dealing with it and I had my little guys almost a month ago! It's horrible! Your doctor should be able to give you a cream and possibly some meds, how far along are you? I'm so sorry your having to deal with this, it sucks! I know it seems impossible, but if you can not itch it, that will probably help the most!

this just started this week for me too. i was going to ask the doc why my belly had become so itchy and splotchy at my appt this fri. at times it is unbearable! it hurts in the shower too when exposed to the hot water.

i thought it was interesting they say it may have to do with having a boy...i do have one in the oven.

    hang in there ladies!

That does sound like PUPPP. I had it with my first (singleton) pregnancy. First thing, check in with your OB. Mine suggested a number of things including benadryl, hydrocortisone, and triamcinolone. None worked all that well for me.

What did work was this: http://www.rainiersoapworks.com/puppp_relief.htm
This mom of 8 (who had PUPPP with all her pregnancies) makes a soap and a cream. Get both. They are AMAZING! I went from bloody itchy welts covering my belly and legs to having the softest most beautiful skin in less than a week. The stuff worked immediately. If you google PUPP, you'll find lots of info. There's also a Yahoo group where you will find lots of fans of the PUPPP cream and soap. Plus the stuff smells really nice.

Good luck, and remember that it will go away when the babies are born regardless!!!!!

I have a rash on my belly too. Just started yesterday and I am going to be 30 weeks this Thursday. There is no welts or anything. Just splotchy red marks and it's prickly...like a slight burning sometimes..especially after I itch it?? Seems to be irritated when I wear my pants as the elastic that goes over my belly rubs against my belly. I am not putting anything on it as it seems to make it burn more. Kind of like really dry skin but it's not. Ugh. Never know what is going to happen next. Hang in there....
