ok so I check with my HR about their policy on me taking time off because my body is so ready to quit......well my OB said whatever I wanted they would write me a note.......soooo I first wanted to check with HR to see what they could help with......well they said I could go on temp disability and the insurance would pay 60% of my wages and the company would pick up the other 40%......ok so that sounds good but the catch is the time I'm on disability still is counting off my 12 weeks FMLA and I have no maternity leave just my FMLA so if I don't have my babies say til 37+ weeks that mean I only have 1-2 weeks left off after my babies are here.......so I asked about just less hours and they said well that would be ok but if my boss wants he can fire me b/c if he can't accomidate me on part time then he will have to hire someone else and they really don't think he'll be able to accomidate me....soooo this mean I'm stuck working 45-55 hours a week til my babies get here........ahh I just want to rest. I'm so tired.

:hug99: I'm so sorry Brandi. I wish I could say or do something to help you, but unfortunately there isn't. :hug99: I hope that your job sees that you need less work and will help you out in that way.

I asked about some sort of extended leave and what my options were (just in case) they did tell me that if it extends beyond the short term disability then I could move on to long term disability. Although I think regardless they are only required to "hold" your job for the 12 weeks FMLA. :hug99:

check into the legality of the statement that he can fire you b/c of your time off due to pregnancy....
dunno what the statutes are, but would be best to check.

That is SO wrong! I am so sorry your work isn't being more accomodating to a woman pregnant with twins! Will you be going back to work after the babies are born?

I'm sorry Brandi, that just does not seem fair at all. :hug99:

I hate to say it and sound mean but if your body is tired now...there is no way that you are going to be able to continue working 45-55 hour weeks for another 10+ weeks potentially. You need to think about babies first! If you push yourself, you will have premature babies.

So nothing like "reasonable accommodation" exists at your workplace? I work for the government and they HAVE to make reasonable accommodations due to illness, disability (including pregnancy), etc. I think it's the law even if you don't work for the government. Check out the labor laws for your state.

Oh Brandi, I am so sorry that you have to deal with this. Those are long hours even when you are not pregnant! I would hope that your job would be more understanding. Companies just suck sometimes!
