My sister-in-law came over the other day and was disgusted that the girl's weren't walking yet. She said she can't believe that they aren't walking. I was kind of mad at the comment, because the girl's are only 11 months old (adjusted 9 months). See my nephew was walking and talking by his first birthday, so I think she thinks every baby should.

Some people! Tell her that's because they can only master one thing at a time, and they are mastering their geniousness right now, so they'll have to master walking in a little while.

People can be such turkeys sometimes. You just have to be the better person and IGNORE such ignorance. Give your guys time and enjoy each little milestone. They'll get there. And when they do...LOOK OUT. That's when it really gets wild!

I'm positive what I really want to say would definitely be edited by the mods. [IMG] If only there were a subtle way for you to tell her to get a clue!

Ditto, babies do what THEY need to do, when they need it!! Silly bouzma sounds like she has a competitive streak or something. Even full term babies can take longer to walk. My oldest walked at 10 months and was climbing up 8 ft baby gates by the time he was 15 months. Do you think I want my twins to do that?

I don't get how some people think that if babies hit milestones earlier than others that they're smarter. Mine aren't crawling yet, and I get the question all the time, "Are they crawling yet?"

My oldest didn't walk until 18 months! She took her first steps at 16 months, but just wouldn't walk until a couple of months later. She knew that I would pick her up and move her if she wanted to go somewhere. She was so easy-going and content. They all do it in their own time.

What?? Oh man, I have a name for your s-i-l. Your babies are only 11 months old! Her baby is going to have issues if that is her attitude regarding milestones. What if her poor son isn't potty-trained when she thinks he should be?? Is she going to tie him to the toilet?? UGH, I hate people like that!

Oh goodness, some people are so stupid. I would be lit if someone said anything like that to me....does she not get what the word preemie means...does she not get that all babies are different??? DUH [IMG]

My DD didn't walk until 17 months, she just didn't feel like it. She is a very good talker though, so she must have been working on her language skills. Just try to ignore your SIL, it sounds like she has a competitive streak a mile wide. [IMG]

My thoughts as well. Besides, your babies have about a year to learn how to walk before a doc would even be concerned. How frustrating she would say that though.
