when can my LOs eat veggies in hummus, etc? i am trying to find more ways for them to eat veggies. if i'm lucky, they eat 1 serving a day and i feel very guilty they dont eat more, lol.
i see the petite carrots in the store; im wondering when they can start having some hummus with them? or any other veggie for that matter?

My guys don't eat a lot of veggies, though I offer them at a minimum of one meal a day. Fruits are very similar nutritionally, so if your LOs eat fruit, then don't stress about them not liking veggies.

I was very surprised to find that Nate (my pickiest eater) LOVES hummus. I gave him a bit one day when I was eating it, and he got soooo excited and said "more hunnus!". He also likes baba ganoush. I give him veggies to dip (very thin carrot slices, cucumbers, etc.) but he mainly uses them as a scoop for the hummus and doesn't actually eat the veggies. ;) Jack will eat sometimes eat the veggies, but never the hummus; go figure. :pardon: And unlike seemingly 99% of all toddlers, neither of my guys like ranch dressing.

Give it a try, they might love it! And keep in mind that hummus is made from chick peas which are a veggie as well! :good:

I cook beans for soup, lentils for soup, broccoli for soup...all good veggies.
I also bake butternut squash in the oven and they love it.
I make pasta with peas and carrots...This is how we end up eating veggies for now.

they can have any veggie and/or any food for the most part after 12 mo.

our favorites are broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, peas, snap peas (those are fun to give them something to do with splitting the pods), zucchini - sliced and grilled w/olive oil in a pan or grill. keep on trying.

maybe put the hummus out with something that they like for now, like bread or crackers, and then transition the veggies in to give them some new veggies to eat. you could use any cooked veggie with it, just don't cook too long as to make them so mushy.
