Sorry if this is TMI, but I notice that I already have varicose veins down around my female parts (don't know what else to call it here) :). I am 23w 2d...and they are very uncomfortable. I bought an awesome support band/belt thing, but it doesn't help with these. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for me? Has anyone else had them this early? Feeling a little desperate since I still have so far to go.... Thanks!

I hate to share this with you:sorry: but I too got the varicose veins down there but honestly they are twice as bad on my bottom:cry:. The first time I saw them on my backside - it looked like I was kicked b/c they are so purple and bulge. My DH didn't believe me until I showed him and he was completely speechless. I have not found any relief and not sure if there is any considering with a twin pregnancy you have like triple the blood volume. I just can't wait till I can sit without the pain and discomfort.

I'm sorry to say that there was nothing but bedrest that helped. I developed it with my DS and literally freaked out to my mw. She assured me it would go away after I had him and she was right. Same thing happened with ODD. Same thing happened with the babies. Unfortunately with the older two it became massive and extremely painful, but with the babies I was on bedrest from 15 weeks on, so although it was still there, it was only uncomfortable and not painful, and it didn't get quite as massive as with the previous two pregnancies.

I tried everything. Nothing worked. The good news is that it did go away very quickly and I have no remnants of it anymore :FIFblush: Oh, and it also happened to my mother and sister with all of their children.

I had one that started at about the same time as yours with my twin pregnancy. Unfortunately, the only thing that will make it go away is to reduce the pressure on it. I found that sitting in certain positions helped lessen the pain. Also, make sure your undies are not too tight, as that can make the pain worse. The good news is that it should go away quickly after you give birth.

I get them on my legs while pregnant. The only thing I would really caution you about is to let your OBGYN know because if you have to have a c-section they may need to give you some shots afterwards to prevent clotting. I also had to wear these massaging boots, which are also to prevent clotting.

I'm surprised you don't have them in your legs. That's a very common place for them to develop.

Is it possible to still have a natural vaginal birth with the ones on your backside? I just noticed last week I've developed one and it has me concerned that it would cause issues during labor? :FIFblush:

I had those varicose veins in my female part as well... I gave birth vaginally (after 17.5 hours of labor, and the boys were 4.5 hours - which made them have different birthdays - apart) with no problems.
Good thing, they DO go away afterwards.

I had them too... but only "down there" and no where else. Nothing provided relief during pg except for staying off my feet.
They went away right after delivery though! Hang in there!
