I am 36 wks on Thursday and baby a has been head down and baby b has been head up or transverse (once per u/s). My dr. says if baby a is head down I can deliever vaginally, which I am planning on doing. Although I am scared that if baby b remains head up or transverse and has to be pulled out that I am going to rip everywhere and have a long healing process ahead of me. Had my 14 mo. old son vaginally and healed o.k. but I walked around for several wks slow and had to use the squirt bottle. Only had 1st degree tears. Would love to hear others experience.

Also the past few days I have had alot of menstrual like cramps and wondering if this may be a sign that I am getting close. I don't know what it is like to go into labor on my own as I was induced with my son.

    Thanks!

I had a vaginal birth for both of my girls, Baby A was head down & baby B was transverse. They did pull out Baby B & I believe I had 3rd degree tearing, but wasn't told specifically, I think I overheard my Dr talking to her assistant. Anyways, I walked around slowly for about the first week, but the more I walked, the stronger I got. I did use the spray bottle for about 2 weeks after giving birth & was probably sore for about that long too, but I'm 4 weeks postpartum now & am feeling totally fine now. I've never given birth before, but I don't think the healing process was too bad.

I had a vaginal birth with both my sons, they were both head down but I tore up and down. The only thing that really hurt was using the potty ( sorry were potty training..lol) I had no trouble walking around but it took everything I had to send my mind to a different place while using the bathroom.

    good luck

Both of my boys were head down and I was able to have a vaginal delivery. Mine didn't go very smoothly - they had to use the vacuum on both of them. Baby B was having heartrate trouble, so they needed to get him out and were a bit aggressive about it because the wrong part of his head wanted to come out (his vacuum bruise ended up on his forehead). I ended up with two tears - the worst one was a 3rd degree, the doctors said it was almost 4th degree. I used the squirt bottle for about two weeks, as well. Certain chairs were more comfortable the first couple of weeks. A pillow helped on harder chairs.

The menstrual-like cramps sound like the 'real' thing. Be sure to time them if you are having a few in a row.

I have had 3 vaginal deliveries, and then a c-section with the twins. I tore quite a bit with Justin and Josh, and those recoveries were MUCH easier than the c-section for me.

    Best of luck! :hug99:

I delivered Baby A head first and Baby B feet first.

I did end up having to have an episiotomy. My OB used forceps for Baby A. With Baby B's birth I didn't even feel her coming out (sorry TMI) I was just glad to have Baby A out.

    They weighed 7.10lbs (A) and 5.3lbs (B)

I was VERY sore (down there) for the next 4 weeks. I had to move very slowly. Especially getting into a sitting position or out of a sitting position. Sitz baths were were wonderful. I LOVED the squirt bottle. It was "my friend" for the first 3 weeks.

i had my girls vaginally baby a (5 lbs 9 oz) was head down and baby b (5 lbs 2 oz) was head up and they pulled b out. i didn't tear at all but i had a scratch i think more from the doctor than the baby. i was up after about an hour walking around and never had any pain meds after the birth.

I also had my girls vaginally. Both girls were just over 4 pounds. Baby A came out head first and Baby B was breech (she was transverse for every u/s I had). I did have some tearing and lots of stitches but really didn't have horrible pain. Was uncomfortable more than anything else. Although I spent the first three or four weeks terrified to poo! Sorry but I had to add that piece of information!

My Baby A was head down, B was transverse. I delivered vaginally. My dr. did a fantastic job of turning Addison and guiding her head down. yes it hurt, but it was totally worth it. I did have a full episiotomy and was in some serious pain afterwards for a week or two. But think of the major recovery of a C-Section!!!

My girls were both a little over 5 lbs and born at 36 week.s

the mentstural cramps sound like the real thing. If they start to get regular and stronger I'd be calling the doctor.

    Good Luck
