Vaccination

Both of my twins have a cold and they are scheduled for their six month vaccinations. Has anybody vaccianted thier child while they had a cold?

 

I would recommend that vaccines are not given while anyone is sick. You cant get a flu shots if you have a cold. I would not feel comfortable because their immune system is already compromised, but that may be just me.

I haven't but I would call your pedi and get their recommendation. They might also agree to hold them off. I hope your babies feel better soon.

I too would wait. I can't remember what shots are given then, but I know they don't usually recommend to give sick babies shots.

 

I know my pedi won't give shots if they are sick. I'd hold off too.

 

That is one question I am always asked... if they are sick. SInce they are, I'd hold off and just do the shots when they are better.

 

Thsnks ladies, no shots were given. They are going back in a week. Pedi saw them for a sick visit instead and they do not have colds but sinus infections!!!! So now they are on antibotics.
