Hi ladies! It's been a while. I need advice though. We are vacationing in June for the first time with the twins. Or should I say this will be the first time in their 2 1/2 years of life that they will be sleeping somewhere other than their own cribs!!! So, the hotel that we're staying at offers two queen beds. Should one of us just sleep a child? If so, do I need the saftey rails? Should we still request cribs? I have no idea! I know we're gonna have a great time, but I'm so anxious about the sleeping arrangements, not to mention the airplane!!! Thanks for any advice!

We are going on vacation in July and have a 1 bedroom condo. The bedroom has 2 queen beds. My oldest DD will sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor or the pull out bed, (or in one of the beds with us) and DH and I will each sleep with one of the twins in a bed. I am brining bedrails to put on the side that the kids are sleeping on, plus they will also be taking naps in there. We aren't even bothering with cribs or PNPs for this trip.

We are also going away this month 2 times and each weekend are not taking PNP's, again, they will just sleep in beds with us.

We use the "cribs" the hotel offers, they are normally pnp.

When we went away last month, slept either on the pull out sofa or in the bed with us. In fact one night Dani was sleeping in the pull out, and when we woke up she was in bed with us.

We are going on the same vacation we did last year when the boys were 18m but last year they slept in PNP's which they will never fit in this year. We are renting cribs. I don't want to have to worry about them sleeping in a bed, or not for that matter, on vacation. Plus, they go to sleep at 8 Pm and like last year we will probably hang on our deck with the monitor and have a few drinks and chit chat. My boys are also very light sleepers, not to mention I was up by 5am every morning because we all had to sleep in the same room and they did not go back to sleep once they noticed I was in the room so I don't want to be fighting with them to stay in a bed on top of probably having to get up early every morning.

We stayed at a hotel recently with the kids. We got 2 queens & dh and I each took a bed with a kid. The first 2 nights they did fall ouf of bed several times. But after that, they did fine! And I was surprised at how well naps went, too. I think the heavy curtains in our room, making the room pretty dark helped a lot.

Also a little sidenote.....since they did so well with the beds at the hotel, I thought when we got home it would be a good time to transition their cribs, since they'd just spent the last week in "real" beds. And it went so smooth, I could hardly believe it.

I just got back from vacation and the girls slept in the cribs that the hotel had.

About 6 weeks ago I was also in Seattle visiting my brother and the girls slept no problem in PNP's the hotel had.

We will be using PNPs for another year but by 3, we just kept our eldest in bed with us or he had the queen bed. I think until they are good at sleeping in beds, you will need PNPs or rails. Have fun!
