Both of my boy's have been starting to get really picky about what veggies they will eat. One will only eat green beans and sweet potatoes. The other will eat peas, sweet potatoes, carrots and a few others but right now he is sick and pretty much refusing to eat ANYTHING. The only thing I can get him to eat is apple sauce and yogurt, will also dring milk and juice so is getting plenty of fluids. I am pretty sure he has a sore throat but I haven't really been able to see any redness. Anyway my question is it okay to give them V8 juice to help supplement the veggie servings they are not getting? Also any ideas of what else to try to feed my sick one would be great. I've run out of things to try. I am the first to admit I'm not the greatest cook so we tend to get alot of the same foods. Thanks for any advice!

I would really like to know this too!

I did ask my Dr if it was ok for me to juice my own veggies for them and she said of course, problem is - they don't like it. The only concern I'd have with V8 juice is it being too acidic

My dr recommended it at our 2 year visit since I told him that my kids were refusing all veggies. V8 and some of the other veggie juices are high in sodium, so he said to not give too much. I tend to give it with their afternoon snack every other day. On the other days, I just double up on fruits since our pedi said that fruits and veggies have almost the same nutritional value. He assured me that this was just a phase and that they would grow out of it, but it's been about 6 months and we haven't made much progress (with veggies or meat).

My boys are 23 months and I do -- not every day though. I give them the low sodium V8 and the new V8 fusion. It makes me feel better knowing they are getting those veggies.

I get v8 thru WIC and have since 12 months so I assume its okay to give them. My girls like it

I gave the V8 fruit fusion to my girls. They were allergic and broke out in hives.

Thanks everyone! I will try giving them just a little bit to make sure they are not allergic. Keagan is more sensitive to acidic things than Hunter is, so I will definetly limit to only every now and then. They have had a drink of mine before and seemed to like it. But that was probably the "Mommy's drinking it so I want some" once we give it to them to actually drink on their own they won't like it. LOL Thanks again!
